Broken Axle???

OK, I was pulling out of work today and all of the sudden my car started making a grinding/clunking sound and wouldn't go anywhere, so I parked it and took the tire off and found the front driver side outer CV joint of my Axle was broken. Now my question is, what exactly is the name of this part so I can get another one? If you look in the picture there is a metal ring just to the left of my thumb, that is the piece that broke off. the wheel spins freely and you could almost pull the axle out. Sorry for the bad picture, my phone doesn't take good outdoor shots.

Also this is on a 95 GSX, thanks for the help.

looks like a bad cv boot just get a new half shaft there not that expensive plus 2 new cv boots come on them

correct bad cv axle if you go to a mechanic it should be about $190 installed or just buy the axle and do it yourself for a bout $100

really i got my new half shaft for about 70 bucks casue i took the old one in for the core charge and its one less part you have to dispose of
