I've notice my bov is leaking into the recirculating tube under light throttle. The boost gauge easily goes up and hear air slipping out of the bov but regardless I feel no power at all. Does anyone know if it's caused by the bov that the boost gauge reads high And can't feel the boost pull? Yes its the crappy 2g bov. Thanks :)

If your BOV (or anything else for that matter) is leaking boost, then you won't be getting the power you should. Also depending on how bad it is leaking it can cause poor drivability. I have an extra 1g BOV (and we are in the same city) if you are interested PM me. If you come by we can do a boost leak test and see what else is leaking too.

Is this the factory boost gauge? If so it will still go up even if the boost isn't there because the ECU thinks there is that much boost. The factory gauge doesn't actually measure the pressure in your intake tract.

The factory gauge is based off the MAF frequency. It's pulling in X flow and the computer thinks your running X psi even though you have a leak.

Get a 1g bov. I have one if interested

He came over and we did a boost leak and sure enough is plastic 2g BOV is leaking but it's not the only thing not holding boost. We replaced his BISS o-ring, which was easy enough, but he is losing a LOT of pressure into the crankcase. Hopefully it's just the PCV valve leaking pressure into the head. I hooked him up with a check valve but if that doesn't fix it then its probably the valve stem seals. When you remove the oil fill cap there is a LOT of air rushing though the head.

I see your a there might be probmlems with my head so why not upgrade kind of guy...

after installing the 1g bov i've noticed it still leaks from the bov??
its not as bad, but it leaks even worst while i drive in the sun. could it be i have a faulty coolant temperature sensor not giving my car a good fuel mix?? even on light throttle my boost level rises easily with no power at all.

Is it leaking from within the actual BOV or around it (i.e. the adapter or where the BOV mounts to the adapter).

Have you done a boost leak test with a compressor since you came over?

Did you install the check valve I gave you on the PCV line?

I strongly suggest a compression test. That could explain your lack of power.

its leaking straight from the mouth on the bov. the flange is good. and i installed the check valve on the pcv line. it made a good diffrence. I did do the boost leak test, but i used what i had (Bike pump). even with the bike pump the bov started leaking from the vent tube with in 3 pumps.

here is a the video. i put a bag around the vent tube of the bov.

Honestly that bypass valve looks over crushed.

When you crush it you should only do it until the nipple barely touches then stop.

You could also look up the dodge garage mod as this is a more precise way of fixing the issue rather than crushing a good 1g bov.

The 1g BOV is actually a very nice BOV when it's working properly. It wouldn't surprise me if something was damaged by crushing it... as that's a very unexact "science". You hear people saying things like, crush it until only a penny can fit between the nipple and the housing. Sure it works for some people, but that's like saying set your yard on fire and it's like mowing your lawn. Ya, it works.... is it the best way to meet a desired end... no.

So your telling me i didn't need to buy a lawn mower, But a Set of matches!!!! :banghead:

haha jk,

What could have gone wrong? bov is crushed and it still leaks. Im guessing the spring inside just isn't as strong as most 1g's bovs.

I recently did a boost leak test and found a leak from the upper intercooler pipe to where the bov connects..

the rubber boot is torn and dont know where to buy one.

Anyone where i could find one? :)

I would just replace your uicp with a hardpipe kit or go front mount, because standard 2g pipes suck pretty bad as far as leaks go.
