I've notice my bov is leaking into the recirculating tube under light throttle. The boost gauge easily goes up and hear air slipping out of the bov but regardless I feel no power at all. Does anyone know if it's caused by the bov that the boost gauge reads high And can't feel the boost pull? Yes its the crappy 2g bov. Thanks :)

plus i dont want to upgrade to uicp since i have the evo bov..

jst want to keep my car mainly stock

what side of the town do you live? I'm on the west maybe we can meet and check your car, probably i have that part or can find it easy local.

You can get a good steel UICP with whatever BOV flange you want (greddy or 1g) and still run your stock SMIC. If you have the stock air filter, you have to hack the box, or you can install a K&N FIPK G2 (filter kit) and everything clears. I've got the Dejon UICP kit, but there are others. If you look at your stock plastic UICP that has to squeeze under your stock filter box, you'll see why folks upgrade. Looks like someone ran it over, so all the air has to squeeze through the "crushed" part. Honestly must have been an oversight when they designed the engine compartment.

And you shouldn't have to crush a 1g BOV at your level of boost. Mine holds 22psi before it pops open, uncrushed.

He has stock gauge and stock boost.

My 1g BOV or something in my intake whistles. I get a nice whistle when I tap the throttle (air rushing into the now-open IM) and a strange "sad little bird" whistle at a certain, fairly low airflow, but it could be anything along the metal intake tract. And then there's that turbo whistle, too :)
 
Yup, stock boost and stock gauge.
the boost gauge goes up as if im boosting but i feel all the air rushing from where the bov connects to the stock uicp.

like i said before the rubber flange that goes on the pipe of the bov is torn..

anyone know where to find the boot??
i dont want to upgrade piping just replace the boot.. :)
 
might sound weird but you can try local home improvement store. I noticed in the plumming section the other day rubber reducers and cupplers for pipes... you might be able to get one to work.... just a thought
