Ok so my friend was driving my car cruzing at 60 then we noticed a little bit of smoke coming out of the ac vent didnt pay an mind to it then the temp gauge started rising a bit then poof! A big puff of white smoke in my rear view mirror went on the break down lane and I see a trail of oil and coolant... is my head gasket blown?

Might have been your turbo giving out. To be positive about the headgasket do a cylinder leak down test and check for gurgling in your coolant. Also check your turbo for shaft play.

sorry to hear about the bad news man.

it would help if you could find out where all the liquid is leaking from, then we will be able to help you out better, or if you could post up pictures of areas that look like they are leaking that might also help diagnose what could be wrong.

I think you should rent a compression testing tool, and get back to us with the numbers.
check the coolant reservoir [and the radiator] for signs of the classic milk shake [oil mixed with coolant.]

My friend said it could be a bad oil filter gasket

You need to clear up whether or not there was just oil or both oil and coolant. A bad oil filter gasket (I assume you mean the rubber gasket on the oil filter) won't cause coolant to leak from the car.

Your bigger issue, if what you said is correct, is that you're losing both coolant and oil.

Clarification found out it was just water not coolant does this change things? And the turbo is new big 16g evo 3

What? What does that mean? Your cooling system should be filled with a mixture of coolant and distilled water. There's no way you're only leaking water and not coolant.

Unless you meant to say it was just oil and not coolant?

Yea sorry meant to say it wasnt leaking coolant just oil haha I will get some pictures in the morning underneath so you guys can get a better understanding

Before posting pictures, spend like an hour really checking shit out. Try your best to figure out where the oil came from. Find out how much it lost (check the dipstick). Was it from the front of the motor? Pull the timing cover. Around the turbo? Probably a blown seal or a bad crush washer or oil return.

The more info you can post, the better chance of someone having an answer. This shit of (I was driving down the road and then there was oil all over the ground" isn't helping anyone.

Its not that complicated to find out... If your oil looks like chocolate milk and your car is pushing coolant then you most likely have a blown head gasket. Other symptoms are low compression, cloudy coolant (due to having oil in it), sweet smelling white exhaust (due to burning coolant), and over heating.

Found the leak im trying to upload the pic

Ok its not letting me upload the pic so im just going to tell you what it is there is a hole in my oil pan left side under the downpipe my friend said it looks like some was trying to come out....

A hole in the pan itself?

The only way that is likely is if:

a). the turbo drain came loose, or
b). the drain plug came out, or
c). you ran over something in exactly the right way to puncture it, or
d). someone jacked up the motor via the pan at some point and weakened it, or
e). you broke something so bad that a piece of the rotating assembly got thrown through the bottom of the pan.

C and E aren't likely, because you would have noticed a lot more than just some smoke. D happens, but usually causes a slow leak. That leaves A or B. Get a picture of the hole and post it.

With that said... a sudden hole in the pan doesn't explain smoke from the AC vent or the rising temp gauge unless you kept driving it. I think there is more going on here than you are telling us, or you left out some details.

Yes we did keep driving because we were on the highway when it happend we had to slow and im trying to upload the picture but its not letting me sorry

I can see that's your trans and slave... and it sure looks like something shot out of the oil pan but the oil pan looks to be a very weird shape and also looks like a bolt was sheared off in the upper left corner. It's very hard to get a good view of what happened but your oil pan definitely has a hole in it. The smoke coming through your vents was probably from oil burning as it splashed onto your downpipe. The engine temp thing is either a different issue or it was just in your mind.

This is the underside of my car:

That definitely looks like a punch form the inside of the pan. You gotta be hearing some noise.
