So i was just driving home and blew a coupler. i managed to limp home about quarter of a mile. i hooked it back up and it runs fine now. my question is did it cause any damage? im guessing i could have fouled the plugs from running rich because it blew right after my j pipe to intercooler.

As long as you can hand put the coupler back (just clip it back on the pipe) on you'll be fine if you stay out of boost. You can limp to wherever has a jack and some tools.

Itll run but damn it goes slow, just did this same thing last week on mine and it wouldnt go over 12 mph lucky I was only 2 blocks from home when it happened :D

But to answer your question no it should be fine just throw the coupler back on and your good!

Just a tad of advise.. If this happens in the future and you dont have tools to fix it.. Unplug the MAF sensor.. This will put the ECU into "limp mode" and will let the car run decent enough to actually do the speed limit..

Few months ago I blew a coupler off in my 1g and I was 20 miles from home or my tools.. Limp mode got me home.. Now, mind you this will make you run pretty rich. So dont go trying to do any hard pulls or anything.. Its just so you can be able to get somewhere safe to where you can fix it!

Other than that, yes your car is fine.. Make sure you do a boost leak test and fix any leaks so this doesnt happen in the future!

yeah about 40 miles with 2 other ppl in the car doin the speed limit..... maybe my maf is bad, would explain a few things LOL

I blew a coupler a month ago.. Spiked to unknown boost level LOL, it pegged the 30psi guage for a split second and BOOM!, thought something had seriously broken. These are very violent events, sounds like a rod snapping or some other really major problem. I had no idea it was like that. Anyway, car would NOT run just fell on its face. No "limping" for me. Got under it and clearly saw the coupler kicked off and just slipped it back on.
Just didnt run past the little "0" on the gauge on the way back LOL, ran like a champ out of boost.
