Best Turbo? [Merged 9-9] turbocharger upgrade

hi, i wona upgrade my turbo on the gsx, and there is so many choices dont know which one to buy, so i asking you pepz wich turbo is best for under 1k for street/strip setup thanks,

I personally love Holsets so the HX-40 is what I would go for

In that post he used a GT3071R which makes the results, if legitimate, even more impressive. I like the EVO3 16G. Even though it's not capable of hitting your minimum hp goal its close while being incredibly responsive. It's worth it to me to have a car that is faster off boost for the steet, than a car that's only fast when taken to redline. Just spray a little to meet you ultimate power goal IMO.

How much are you looking to spend on the turbo? If your on a budget holset 35/40 all the way.

holset all the way, If your buying a hx40 I would try to find the best of the bunch like a billet wheel 7blade. buttt

which bep housing to you plan to run? if its the on that bots to stock mani then a hx40 will be quite restricted by it, I would run t3 bep houisng if you wanted to use it to its full potential.

if you wanted to keep it using the stock manifold and o2 housing I would us a hx35.

i would go with a turbonetics GTK-500....i am going with a GTK-650 and it supports 575-700HP....the ported housing and ball bearing so really almost no lag...my bud has an SRT running the GTK-500 setup and he luvs it...

The PTE/35r are way to big, and are lag monsters, the HX35 is your BEST bet.

You can get the turbo and the housing for no more than 650. Anything over that u have paid to much.

That's amazing power for that turbo, even though it drops off hard on the 2.3l. The gt3071 compressor wheel is only a hair larger than a 20g with 53/71mm(gt3071) versus 52/68mm(20g) for inducer/exducer. The GT3071 wheel can also be machined to fit in a stock 14b compressor housing. I've been trying to get my hands on one of those wheels for awhile, but they are difficult to get by themselves.
