Best timing belt kit?

Ordering one and wondering which is the best option? I am going to need a new water pump too. Have seen some kevlar belt kits, not really sure about them though.

i just went with the extreme psi kit... bought the greddy kevlar kit.. and in my opinion do the balance shaft eliminator kit... my balance shaft bearings are what made me tear mine apart and redo everything i spun the rear balance shaft bearing.. plus it wasnt that hard to do it. i did mine with the motor in the car in my driveway haha.

with the 4G63, don't worry so much about the the timing belt itself, the tensioner is more the enemy when it comes to the timing on out engines. yes you should always get a good quality belt, but also get a good quality tensioner.

OEM is all i will buy for non belt parts I suggest OP does the same.

+1 on OEM non-belt parts since they know what is needed for that particular motor. If doing 3rd party manufacture belts, I'd choose both Gates and Contitech as my 2nd choice

Tensioner (OEM $87)
Tensioner pulley (OEM $28)
Idler pully (OEM $33)
Water pump (OEM $126)

All OEM = $336 (+ $48 with a Gates Racing belt). I recommend JNZ tuning, all the prices I listed are what I paid on my order through them (call and ask for Paul). I also recommend eliminating the balance shafts. I blew my first 4G63T because the balance shaft bearing spun. Add $53 for the BSEK.

Yeah you can get it for that cheap but it won't be OEM, it will most likely be Topline. OEM is way better quality then Topline. Please don't go cheap on timing belt components, you will regret it.

Yeah you can get it for that cheap but it won't be OEM, it will most likely be Topline. OEM is way better quality then Topline. Please don't go cheap on timing belt components, you will regret it.

For a timing belt/waterpump/BS I would definatly go with OEM. Proven and guaranteed if done through the dealership.... Warranty Baby

I agree Gates makes the best parts.

However!!!!!

PCI belts ARE GATES BELTS, you do not pay for the Gates name however and they are MUCH MUCH cheaper! They are the SAME belts! When you order them they even say GATES on them. Trust me on this I bought one myself.

Ive use water pumps from the local stores never a problem many thousands of miles on them, 2nd dsm and a few water pump installs. Ive also used other timiing belts too, never a problem with them.

Why so many water pump installs then? How long are they lasting you? I've had my dsm for over 7 years and I've only used 1 OEM water pump.
