Bad wastegate - PLEASE HELP!!

Hey guys, please help. I have a 1995 TSI AWD with a bad wastegate, or I think thats the problem. As soon as I start to boost, the car sputters, and kicks back. If i dont punch the gas, its fine. Well, anyways... I need a wastegate I think. I found one on ebay, its a company that makes a polished manifold, with a xsboost 38mm wastegate.. new, all for $290. What do u guys think? Also, if I decide to keep the stock manifold, what type of wastegate should I get? Im new to these cars, I was a big starion/conquest guy, and then I moved onto Hondas.. but, Im back!!

Post your mods. Sounds to me like fuel cut. Not a serious case tho. Im running my car at 13psi and i hit semi fuel cut at around 5800. Sputters alittle then I shift as if it was a shift light.

It could also be bad injectors or maybe fouled spark plugs.

Any ideas anyone?

You have a boost Leak, go over all your Intercooler pipe Connections and tigthen them all.

Not sure what makes you think it is the wastegate. If your wastegate fails you will either have uncontollably high boost or almost none at all when it sticks open.

Check for boost leaks and make sure your ignition system is up to par.

Well, the guy I just bought it from told me he just had it serviced and was told that the turbo and everything else was good. That all he needed was a wastegate, and an 02 sensor. In higher gears it doesnt do it as bad, its just first and second that I cannont punch the car at all. The car seems to be running very well at idle, no miss or anything. Can it possibly be a plug and wires issue? I appreciate any insight from you guys, you know more than I do!!
