I ran my car down the quarter mile this past thursday at the 1st test and tune of the year. My last run as soon as I crossed the line it back fired and died.. would not start afterwards. Finally got it started and figured out the coil that fires cylinders 1 and 4 is bad, luckily oreilys in town had one for $92. replaced it and ran fine again. just a few hours ago, i go to start up my car and it is barely idling at 500 rpms, instantly threw CEL. it says random misfire. Im assumimg its my other coil pack that fires cylinders 2 and 3, (ill know for sure tomorrow) is this just a coincidence or is there a reason they both went bad on days it was drove "hard"?(was drove hard today bc I street tuned it)

Thanks

check your cam sensor, and crank sensor before spending anymore money, then make sure your ecu is good, and after that make sure wires are not cut...Oh and make sure the power transistor is A ok.

Well I checked it and the new coil I just put in friday is bad.. do you think its a defect or another sensor is making the coil go bad?

im guessign you checked this but spark plugs?

Well i thought that too bc in the past Ive had the porclein on the spark plug break off but all my plugs look good still. So I ordered a new coil and it will be here in the morning... I noticed that when i took the coil bracket off that there is a little hole with threads in it. Is the suppose to be some kind of ground that screws into this? I looked around for a "loose" ground wire just incase but couldnt find anything.
