Aw4g63, landoawd where you at. All members from the early 2000's check in.

Bought my GST new back in 96 and started modifying soon after. Got a beater daily driver because race/show car. Decided to convert to AWD back in the early 2000s so I bought most of the parts. I put it up on jack stands I think in 2003 or so and it's been there ever since. I got the itch to get it back on the road because I do miss it but it's so hard to find OEM parts these days. Anyway, I'm glad these forums are still around to help me get my shit together.

@Ludachris I think this thread proves the absolute need for a new user tag of “OG”.

It’s crazy I really haven’t been on here at all in about 10 years other than a couple times where I was posting my car for sale but so many of the names that posted here I remember.

Glad to see some folks stuck it out.
Thatd be awesome! What year would be the cutoff to be considered an OG though? :hmm:

Proud to be an OG LOL.

Getting the itch and looking for a 2g gsx again.....
20+ Year Contributor... only a few of those here in this thread. Nice to see you in here Nick. If only we had everyone post their old avatars. I remember a lot of the old ones I used to see on a daily basis two decades ago. Great memories.

For those members who used to spend every day in here, but have moved on to other platforms, post a reply and let us know what you're wrenching on these days - especially if you're doing any racing with it. I'm always curious to hear about this.

Hola.

Not a ton going on here. Just been looking for a new project for when the other half gets back from deployment as a surprise to work on together. That means I'll be poking around here more often especially once I find something to drag home on a trailer and hide in the garage. 😅

I come and go. Still two '95 AWDs in my garage, hopefully one day I'll find time to get them running. Started logging back in and tinkering with the Talon a few months ago, so maybe I'll get it off the wheel dollys and on the pavement sooner than later. Really happy that this place is still around though!

It's definitely been quite some time. My GST was my first car at 18 and have been wrenching on many things since then.

Currently have a twin turbo ctsv and rs3 as a daily.

Still have my Avatar car, but it has been sitting in the garage for quite a few years. I need to either get that running again or just sell it. Too many other projects going on. I just changed some injectors on my BMW 535d X-Drive (diesel, fun fun).

Ngl, that's suuuuuch a pretty 1g. Definitely get that thing running and cruise worthy again.

Not quite early 2000's but been into my car lately again (had this one since 2012 I think) and decided it's time to start writing down information that's in my head and be more active.

Good to see names again, so much good info here.

Thanks! Yes, I should get it back on the road. Nothing was really wrong with it, I just parked it in the garage for a few years, and now it doesn't start. Maybe I will make that my Fall project. I do miss driving the Talon.

So whatever happened to that Santa guy, Defiant I think it was? He sure was a good resource of info on DSM's.

Checking In. I do dabble in other cars but almost always still have a 4G. One of the early members on here looks like.
I seem to recall you being on DSMtalk a lot more than here back in the day. I wonder which site I joined first... So many memories in this thread. Great group of people here :)

There are way more, especially from the mid 2k's, but my memory isn't what it used to be. I just remember how much fun I had early on. The calendars, the timeslip lists, just trying to create cool features for the site. Don't miss the drama between some of the members or the trolling from members of other sites, but that was all part of it.

Thanks to all who made such a big impact on what we were building here, even those who have moved on and won't see this. And huge thanks to those who are still wrenching on these cars who actually come in and continue to participate here. That means more to me than you know.

Although I don't have much to contribute I still drop in as "guest" mostly these days, sometimes logon, but I'm still around & wrenching. I remember @greengoblin also. Still wonder if he ever finished his build.

Nonsense. Everyone here has plenty to contribute. Sharing what you’re doing with your car (DSM or not) or just what’s going on in your life is plenty in terms of contribution. Participation is what makes this place a community. It's not just about answering questions.

A few others that frequented the site and/or had interesting posts:

@BUCK
@DevilSperm

Thankful for all contributions from those early members helping to form what we have and get to enjoy today.

Not taking away anything from the 15+ year contributors, either - there is a wealth of knowledge from that group as well! Plenty of them I could have sworn were here earlier than their join dates show.
