Thankful for all contributions from those early members helping to form what we have and get to enjoy today.

Not taking away anything from the 15+ year contributors, either - there is a wealth of knowledge from that group as well! Plenty of them I could have sworn were here earlier than their join dates show.
I knew there some I missed. It's funny how usernames stick in your mind. It would be crazy to see all the old avatars from back then. That's how I "recognized" users.

Nonsense. Everyone here has plenty to contribute. Sharing what you’re doing with your car (DSM or not) or just what’s going on in your life is plenty in terms of contribution. Participation is what makes this place a community.
I agree. Seeing where we are at from where we started is nice to see.

I wouldn't have learned building cars if it wasn't for this site. The knowledge I gained really built my passion. All of this, before the era of youtube mechanics.

Totally agree, helped me tremendously in the beginning as a kid with no clue about anything. So glad to be able to still hang around and help others when possible.

@pneumo I believe is Dave Womer. He is still around, working as a diesel mechanic with an old friend that I used to rent shop space from. I don't believe he has a DSM anymore, but I dont blame him :)

1 day late but EARLY. Happy Birthday Steve and many many more!

There are way more, especially from the mid 2k's, but my memory isn't what it used to be. I just remember how much fun I had early on. The calendars, the timeslip lists, just trying to create cool features for the site. Don't miss the drama between some of the members or the trolling from members of other sites, but that was all part of it.

Thanks to all who made such a big impact on what we were building here, even those who have moved on and won't see this. And huge thanks to those who are still wrenching on these cars who actually come in and continue to participate here. That means more to me than you know.
I'm still friends and keep up with a handful of people from the way-back-days. Graffy and Lando live within a few hours of me now. They're doing good! But there's a ton of good memories here. I've gone through my old DMs and just found myself smiling while re-reading the dumbest of conversations with people who used to be so active here.

But come on now, some of the trolling and drama was entertaining. Such as Mine and Lofty's arguments because we were both young and dumb fussing over the smallest of things. 😅

There's always going to be a need for this place. It's so full of information and, even if it's buried, trial and error that led to major breakthroughs and discoveries for the platform. I've found over the years when it comes down to it and I NEED to know something that I either never encountered or simply forgot for these cars I always come back here. And I'm always happy that it's here and maintained. I'm sure everyone else does the same as well. I know Jordan and I have talked more than a few times about the "Good old days" of spending half of our day on these forums discussing issues, making jokes, and getting bopped on the head by the mod team for being dumb.

I had a dream the other night that I restored a 91 Talon. I really miss mine and hopefully my dream will come true at some point. I moved on to riding motorcycles, not racing or anything, just being a grumpy old man on a Harley haha!

I snow bird in Arizona and think of @L2RTSiAWD once in awhile and wonder where hes at and whats hes doing.

I was young and created some drama back in the day, but it was all in good fun. Sorry @Ludachris LOL

P.S. Never changing my avatar :)

No worries. I actually had some old school NABR members reach out to me years ago, apologizing for all the excessive, intentional trolling they did back in the day. One of them caused a lot of headaches for me and the moderating team over the years. It's funny how maturity and emotional intelligence opens your eyes and changes your perspective.

I would be happy to meet up anytime. I did meet Chris a long time ago and it was great.

I grew up and became a family man..LOL I had a 2000 Trans AM WS6 after the Talon and now I have just a family sedan. I was going to purchase another sports car. I had thought about a Hyundai Veloster N line but then I had to use that money for boring adult stuff.
