I just got new motor mounts from avid racing. I believe it's the tuner series. My motor mounts are pretty shot and that is the reason for getting new ones.

So the factory through bolt is m12. On both front and back roll stop. Now that just seems to small. Do I need bigger bolts? Even with factory mounts the through bolt seems small.

Also my oem front roll stop has nuts/threads on the mount to bolt it to the crossmember. The new one has nothing so my option is to nut and bolt it or weld nuts on top.

the front and rear through bolts are M10! This is plenty plus your starting to argue with the mitsu design folks.

As fornthe front not being threaded, they may have adjusted the design or they forgot since that hapoens alot! My front one was threaded but i have since gone away from avid mounts.

The sleeves are a joke on all brands for these mounts! They make them wayyyy to big. For no reason at all, i made new sleeves to be a better and snug fit,

Should I still use the stock through bolts being the gap between the sleeve and the bolt? Or get bigger bolts so there's not much slop?
You cannot use bigger bolts as the oem bracket is set for a 10mm bolt, if you want to take the slop out you have to have new sleeves made to be 11mm ID as that what i did,

Avid dont and nor do the 2 others that make the same part! Infact im almost 100% sure they are made by the same machiner and just branded differently!

You can drill the bracket out if you wish but no need to, 10mm is fine and its easier to make new sleeves,

I figured I would update this thread. I did get the mounts installed. I decided to drill out the front and rear brackets to accept bigger through bolts. I believe that was the right decision. The fitment is much better this way. I decided to use nuts and bolts for the front mount since there was not any nut welded on the new mount. I did not have to change anything for the driver and passenger mounts. They were fine as is. The install went fairly smooth other than the new mounts were a super tight fit and required a BFH and lube to get them in the brackets. Here are some pics of comparing the two. I know there not the greatest.

I had a lot of trouble getting the rear mount set in as the fitment was extremely tight. I also ended up using lube and a long 2 x 4 to tap encourage fitment. The front rollstop just would not work at all. I think the front rollstops on many of the 2 g kits are made incorrectly. They seem to fit an Evo much better if the bottom plate were twice as thick. I have zero complaints otherwise.

What was the reason you couldn't get the front to work? I had no issues other than than no nuts were welded to the front mount. Every mount was a snug fit and need extra encouragement to get in. But like I said I had to drill the brackets on the front and rear to accept larger bolts.

These are my Torque solution sleeves, 1 was Stainless and the other was steel and the holes were 3mm too big!! I made new ones because i want a snug fit!

The billet versions are tapped and i didnt know the steels had no nuts but i guess they could have even tapped that metal if they wanted to.
