Anyone else run these mounts?

http://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=26134&cat=1344&page=1

I bought these for a good price on black friday and i'm only now getting around to installing them. Install was pretty rough but doable until I got to the subframe mount. The mount slides into the transmission bracket easily unlike the rear mount, so thats not the issue. The issue is once the mount is in the bracket and bolted up, the subframe bolts do not line up at all. After some messing around and loosening the trans mount and rear mount to give the engine some move, I got the front 2 17mm bolts that go into the radiator support to go in and only one of the rear 14mm bolts to go in. The second one thats on the subframe refuses to line up with the frame. Is this ok? Keep in mind I wont be able to bolt up the plate that bolts to the frame and subframe.

Sidenote: I didnt use the bolts that the mounts came with because for the life of me couldnt figure out where they could go.

You are referring to the front roll stop correct? I just installed mine about a month ago. The mounts were extremely tight when installing the trans and motor back into the car. My kit also came four large bolts that I could not figure out how/where they went. I assume you found some longer bolts and nuts to install the front roll stop. I did not have the time to run out and figure out the mounting issue. It does not appear that it will install easily. I currently have not installed the front roll stop as it was low on my priority list at the moment. I am still using a stock mount with poly inserts. I did find some other threads where people had issues with some of the mounts and mystery fasteners included with the kit. The quality seems good and the other mounts greatly reduce engine/trans movement.

Yes front roll stop is what i'm talking about. I did have to buy new bolts/nuts to bolt it to the subframe. I'm just stumped as to why I cannot get the last bolt to line up. Technically I think I can run it with the bolt missing as well as the plate but I'm not sure.

You should not have to remove brace to install the motor mount. I did not try to install this mount as I did not purchase new hardware yet. If it does not fit, install the brace using all of the fasteners to do so. Install your original mount and contact the manufacturer.

I guess you could say that. I had the trans out of the car at the time I installed the mounts so the longitudinal cross member was out of the car.

I also had a friend with the same issue.. I'm curious to come to a solution.. They look like great quality but I don't want to purchase an item that won't fit my car..

On another note, I have a friend that purchased his years ago and they fit just fine. Perhaps a bad batch? I know AVID changed owners.

Hey everyone, the bolts that come in the kit are for the Trans mount. You have to remove 3 of the studs and use the bolts instead.

Sorry I'm thinking of the front roll stop.. I don't see that changing the position of the front.

The Trans mount is held on by a bracket that's bolted onto the Trans it's self that has the mounting studs. Because the avid mounts are much thicker at the base you won't have enough thread to securely attach the mount. So what you have to do is remove the studs( which IIRC are his tack welded on from the factory) and use the bolts and some nuts.

I'm away from my garage at the moment, but I can snap some pics tomorrow in the morning. Finishing up my holset install
Tomorrow.

Hey guys!, this is a pic of the way I installed the Trans mount using the bolts they provided

I just cut the studs down slightly to allow the trans mount to clear them. I wish they had provided longer bolts for the front roll stop as the flange was too thick to use the OE bolts.

Honestly I guess every batch is different, all of my mounts went in fine. Like other people have posted, start with the driver side, rear roll, tranny and finally the front

Well just so everyone knows I did get these to fit with some more muscle. I had to use a crowbar and big screwdriver to shift the motor foward to line up the bolts for the subframe. Takes a little fideling (sp) but you can do it. I however did not do anything to the stock trans studs. Still have the bolts just in case but seems to be okay.

Mounts are great BTW. Some more vibrations for sure but with the windows down, I honestly don't notice.

What did u pry on to get the front mount bracket to work? I just got done putting the other 3 in and that was a project.... They were tight but doable the front is off by a whole bolt size and I had to jack the engine up 3/4" to just to get the bolt through the carrier and new mount. I can't seem to find there contact number but will call the shop I got them from tomorrow.

Looks like the mount was welded in the middle of the plate and should be back about a 1/2" to 5/8".
