So here we are, my first Auto. When I come to a stop it takes forever to start going again. t takes about 5-6 seconds before I can drive normally.
The kicker? It shifts through all the gears... So it's not in limp mode...
I checked the TCU codes just to be sure... Nothing.

The car, a 94 TSI AWD, has 85k on it. Once it's driving it drives normally, it's a little rough going from R to D but otherwise its good.

Did I mention it actually shifts from when I start to about 45. It will shift once then shift again into what seems like an overdrive for 45. Cruising kinda.

The TCU looks absolutely immaculate. btw...

Sounds like you need a new torque converter. If that's not it, then it could be the trans.

If you're apply the gas and the car is literally not moving than at the top of the list would be a converter issue or a tranny pump. Either way it's not looking good and you'll probably need it to be inspected. :sosad:

Is it just really slow to get going? or does it just sit there? I know mine got really bad as soon as i got my 280 bc's it also takes a few seconds to actually get going, i really hope it just ends up being a converter problem.

Don't do anything expensive until you know that the ATF is clean and properly filled.

The ATF should be checked with the car level and the engine running at normal operating temperature, in neutral. Briefly select each gear before selecting neutral to check the fluid.

Checking in park will show normal level when the ATF is actually over a quart low.

The ATF should be near red and not dark.

If the level is low try parking on clean cardboard to check where the drip is coming from.
