let me give you some back round on the situation. My girlfriend has been a DSM hater since she saw mine, called it a POS and blah blah blah. well this Saturday she came to the dark side. she bought a 91 Talon AWD ROFL :hellyeah::rocks:

Anyways she wants to build a street/weekend warrior. we heard for the 600hp+ we are better off going Auto, we want a constant car, don't want to worry about destroying gears, miss shifts, and since we live in LA, Traffic in a manual sucks Balls. Anyways we don't know what's needed to beef up a Auto trans to hold that kind of power. Any Advice or point in the right direction would be great.

To beef it up i recommend:
IPT shift kit and end clutch kit
Upgraded trans cooler and obviously change/flush fluid and filter
Roadsurge shift box or "blue wire" mod.

I just switched from auto to manual in my 91 talon, i have a classified with some parts i have for sale. Let me know about anything not listed. It will be a lot of work so be prepared!

high stall torque converter. loved mine while it was running.

you can make a 5spd handle 600 whp and not blow transmissions if you do it right. i would just build the 5 speed and do it right
