I am ordering a gt30r and am usnure about what injectors i want to run with. Would 950's be overkill? I have DSMLink and a walbro 255 rewired and an AFPR

theres a 20 dollar difference between the 850's and 950's. so i just wanted to maker sure before i ordered them. ive heard that dsmlink has no problem controlling injectors that big.

but i thought you cant go wrong with big injectors and dsmlink because dsmlink can control them at idle no problem. why have 850's maxed out (im guessing) when i could have 950's which would flow more at a less of a strain so to speak. they wont have to be as maxed as 850's. if that makes any sense?

Just get your 950cc's then. I doubt youll ever max out 880cc, thats some MAJOR poweer, but I guess if you just wanna have a just in case, itll work fine since you have dsmlink. Go for it.

Heres the thing with big injectors... I run aem so I can control just about everything and unless you are racing the car all the time driving at low speeds the car bogs BAD thats alot fo fuel to be dumping in the car at low rpm. I'm positive you will not max out 880's or even 850s with a gt30r. Plus even if you ar going for big numbers you will only beable to do it on race gas and race gas you can run a leaner mixture so it wont take as much fuel anyway.

You answered your own question. I have 880's and I wish I had gone bigger. I previously had 680's but ended up maxing those out.

I understand that people's opinions will invariably differ on the subject of injector sizing, so I'm not knocking what anyone has said in this thread so far. However, since we're talking about opinions, here's mine.

Bigger isn't always better. When running extremely large injectors, the ability to maintain a (relatively) stock idle is less a matter of your tuning software than it is the physical properties of the injectors themselves. We all know that huge injectors have increased dead times. Couple that with the shortened open time required to inject the correct amount of fuel for a car running at idle, and you begin to approach the limit of how little the injector is capable of flowing for the shortest possible pulse width from the ECU. If your injectors are so large that you exceed this limit, then you end up with an overly rich idle, because you can't possibly inject any less fuel. My point is, if you're able to run an injector size that nets you less than 85% IDC at your peak power, why run anything bigger? Fuel injectors are just about the easiest thing to replace, so what's the problem with swapping them out and upgrading if you ever do max out a set of 850s? You can always ebay off your old ones to mitigate the extra cost.

For my own situation, DSMLink does an excellent job compensating for my 850s. I don't have a rich idle or bogging at low RPMs. I would have gone bigger if I had more money and a larger turbo, but my 850s, DSMLink and 20G leave me happy enough.

If I could do it all over again, I would of gotten 1000cc injectors. I have 880's right now and if I ever decided to go to a monster turbo then I wouldn't have to worry about upgrading again. BTW my car idles like stock with my 880's and DSMLink.
