As soon as my court ish is all fixed i'll either be looking to join up. Either National Guard or Army. Anybody have pros and cons of each? greatly appreciated Thanks to all who are currently serving.

Yes I have cons of the national guard..they suck.. They're lazy and the promotions are slow.. Regular Army all of the way not the nasty garbage

25U, 8 years, and up for the SFC board in February. I do agree with some about the job; if I knew I'd be sitting behind a desk as a Commo Chief I'd wouldn't have picked this job. It drives me CRAZY!!!!!
There's alot more things we do than what has been posted on this thread and what others think we do.

re-class! im still new, but already sick of it. i work in BN s6 shop and it sucks. being in hawaii and driving an evo make up for it though

i plan on re enlisting with this MOS to go to macdill AFB or just re class to combat arms and do the full 20.

yeah right! only reason i did this was to play it safe if i didnt want to stay in. but so far im enjoying it here and i think i can see myself doing the lifer thing. combat arms is what i really want to do... low points no matter what

I'm a Pfc. in the U.S. Army and I was just wondering how many people on this forum are currently in the service. My M.O.S. is 89D (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist or EOD)


I love my military career and enjoying hearing about others that are in in too.

I aleady explained this haha. I was a future soldier at the time. That was my recruiters blouse. I only have an EOD crab and CAB.

yea i got around to reading that eventually. i posted as soon as i saw the picture. and as far as combat arms goes, i loved it and i got to do some things that people only read about or see in the movies but it didnt set me up for success in the civillian world. if i go back in im definately goin to get a job with a clearance and maybe a nice desk with a really comfortable chair. Infantry world is hard on your body. after 2 1/2 years deployed its time to relax and get some college done. GI Bill FTW

hahaha... not as cool as you would think, but it beats the hell out of the regular Army. I was with the XVIII Airborne Corps for a little over a year before I got "recruited".
