I got a buddy over at Drum with the 10th Mnt who's a 91B headed to Afghanistan and is part of a replacement unit.. My EOD contract is finally up so 11B here I come!
13F - Forward Observer with Joint Fires Support. I call in artillery and utilize CAS(Close Air Support). So I deal with Air-Force and Navy fighter jets as well as Army A-10 Warthog. I have been in the army for almost 6 years and I am an E-5 Colt(Combat Observation Lasing Team) Chief with 2 tours to Iraq.

Actually looking to join the service here soon.
So many options, I have no clue what I want to do. I have the brain to do whatever I want so yeah. Need to take the ASVAB to find out for sure but the recruiter I talked to said my 31 on my ACT in highschool pretty much says it all haha.
I want something computer related and I want to go in as an officer. Not sure the best route to take.
.. 2 years will get ya specialist or e-4...Haha I'm a highschool graduate. As far as I know, I have to go through ROTC to enter as an officer?

Oh and specifically I'm interested in networking. Which is cool because 25F is Network Switching Systems.
I'm still thinking bout joining the marines but how does the whole reserve work? do i have to do active duty? theres no marine recruiter where i live and i did some research but still cant find what I'm looking for
Basically the Reserves is the same across the branches. You will initially sign a 6x2 contract (8 years total) You will go to basic training, then your advanced training afterward for whatever job you choose. You also have the option of doing what is called "split-ops" where after basic training, you can go home from anywhere from a day to a year, then go back for your advanced training. After this you go to your reserves weekend one weekend a month, 2 weeks a year (may be longer for sometimes) for 6 years of what is called "active reserve." During this time, you can be called up for an operation and be sent somewhere stateside, or overseas. After 6 years, you enter into your last 2 years of "inactive reserve" where you are only called up in extreme circumstances such as martial law or if no one else is available to do your job. ( this is pretty rare, but does happen) While you do not have any obligation to go to Reserves weekends the last two years, you may elect to go if you want to, and the rules change on this all the time, but usually you can only go every 3-6 months. Feel free to ask me any other questions you have, and good luck.
That's what I'm looking to find out if not I won't do the reserve. Do you also have to be a US citizen?

25F is a good MOS. I originially was enlisted as a 25B until I requested a change to EOD.
