I recently installed mine and today, my power steering belt came off. Couldn't drive it cause I had no water pump. Luckily I was going slow and was able to get the belt off the road and there was no damage to it. I put it back on but a little tighter but the pump just seems like it's on at an angle. Just wondering if anyone else's is like this or not. It seems to be holding but looking at it, doesn't make me feel real comfortable with the way it's on. Just checking. I'll see if I can post up a picture when I have some daylight. Afraid of it popping off at the worst possible time.

i dont have mine relocated but i had my alt and water pump too tight. I ended up with a bent alt pulley (well not exactly the pulley but the shaft, eh you know what i mean) as well as the pump so if you know its too tight loosen it a bit or you might end up with something like what i had.

Well, it wasn't too tight though. I did put it on a bit tighter though just to help keep it from jumping off. Makes me think that it needs more bracing or something cause the pump can't handle being moved out to the side like that without flexing. Just my guess anyway.

Not the power steering pump. Well, I mean they look lined up, but it looks like it's at an angle. Everything else is perfect.

Well do you have a jay racing alt kit? If so it will allways throw belts at high rpms you need to buy a smaller belt to put on the damper to water pump remove the spacer on the powerstearing pump and run a belt from pump to water pump and run a belt from the alt to the damper 3 belts total do a search its a common prob and it will only get worse trust me I can take pics of my set up if you want just pm me

Yep, that's the kit I have. Threw my belt again on my way home. But this time it cut the belt and it's gone. Great. I'm broke and really don't have time for this crap right now. Anyway, know what belts I need by chance? Thanks.

Searching, but not finding anything about problems throwing the belt. Not sure what keywords you're using.

Is the power steering pump bracket loose? Sounds like what happened when I forgot a tensioner bolt for the pump...it started to look cockeyed and then the bracket sheared off the block. No fun.

Nope. Everything's really tight. I checked for all that.

Just took this picture. Hard to see but in person, it's obvious.

I got an e-mail from Jay Racing saying that they've looked into the problem and it's the 2g brackets on some 2g's and that the bracket has to be bent until it's true with the other pulley's. Gonna try that out today at some point. I'll post an update later of course.

Installing a smaller belt will fix the belt from popping off but it will start breaking two allen head screws that holds the aluminum spacer. I've been stranded on side of the road several times because of this issue. To fix this problem, I made two support braces one that bolts up in the front and one in the back of power steering bracket.

Okay, I bent the crap out of the bracket this morning. Had to take the pump off, bend it, put it back on to test fit, take it back off, bend some more, etc. etc. Anyway, after about 30-45 minutes of this, I finished it and so far so good. Hope it stays that way too.

I have been fighting this for weeks, glad I finally stopped and did this search. Mine is doing the same thing and squealing like a banshee. Jay told me that there has been a few people contact him on this and told me to bend my pump bracket so everything lines up. But I think that I will try the 3 belt idea, my pump seems to be really close to the frame for my liking and just about to rub on it's own lines in the process.

woooop can you pm me some pics by chance please??
