Okay, I've searched and searched and haven't found anyone with the same symptoms. So I've had a high idle ever since I put my new transmission in. I had problems before but not as bad as it was. Okay so I've had the idle for a while and since then I have replaced the IAC the TPS, the entire bottom half of the TB, and the Intake manifold. I'm still experiencing high idle, I personally think its the o'rings on the injectors, I have sprayed TB cleaner on them and the idle decreased almost instantly but not low enough. Other problems I have is my exhaust manifold starts smoking quite perfusely after getting hot from around the gasket, it has a smells but i don't think it's coolant unless the turbo blew? ... it might just be PB blaster but after I turned off the car I noticed the oil got too hot really fast. I took off the oil cap and it was like steamy or smokey? also i have "putting" in my exhaust at idle. I am low on coolant and have no fans on it right now so i don't let it sit on for too long or drive it around. Anything would be helpful.. thank you

Hi,

I got a couple things here that might help you.

Have you done a boost leak check to see if you have any leaks in the inlet system? This is a quick and easy way to help fix your idle problem. Also, have you played with the base idle set screw, it may just be out of adjustment.

For the engine. I would do a compression check and drain the oil and check for any coolant in it. The smoke that comes from when the oil cap is removed may also be from a faulty pcv valve (the blow by exhaust gas has no place to escape, and in a really bad case could make the engine "putt" at idle).

None of this should take you that long, and is good to keep on top of anyway.
