air blowing out of all vents

Whenever I have my heat on defrost it blows air out of all the vents in the car. No matter which position I put the vent control in, it blows out of all vents all the time. Any ideas what the problem is?

Linkage from the selector to the airbox under the dash might have came off the connector to the airbox, or from behind the rotary knob on the dash.

Have to look underneath to see what is going on ...

If that's not it, it's probably the door that's connected to what previous poster stated. They tend to rust up over time, if left on the recycle inside air setting. Service manual says you should leave it on fresh air anytime you shut off the car.
