This weekend marks a big step in the bigging of repairing my eclipse. A huge thanks to @95eclipser for the amazing prices on these surprisingly clean parts, I got almost everything I needed in one swoop and then some. Everything else from here should be pretty minor. This will be the thread I will post updates on as repairs progress especially going into the spring soon I'm hoping it won't be long before shes back on the streets better then ever. I was always worried about keeping the car clean and a nice stock example with small tasteful mods but with this situation I have a new mindset and I'm excited to see what unfolds.

Hi there, The first picture you posted, what's the technical name for that part of the car (im a bit of a newb) and my eclipse has a considerable amount of rust on the cross bar behind where the hood locks and wanted to get a replacement. Thanks for your time

No worries! It is usually referred to as the core support or center support. If you are in need of finding one look on rixracing.com, he may not have one listed but I'm sure would be willing to get you one and ship it depending on your budget. Just send him a text.

Here are the most recent pics of the progress and a better view under the airbox/fuse box, plus some bonus pics of the my trashed intercooler. Got everything on the front end stripped except for the driver fender and the radiator and a few other small things. My step dad brought home his collision tool last Thursday to try and push things straight before we start cutting but has been refinishing his room so the car was put off last weekend. This weekend hopefully we'll see what we can get done.

Do you have to change the radiator support? It doesn’t look bad at all.
The hood stop is creased up on the driver side so the hood shuts really tight. We'll see once we can try to push the front end, I know its thin metal for the most part so I can push the stop back down but the corner of the headlight on the passenger side is the turning point.

Ok, today was a long day but very productive. Removing the crash beam showed the end of the frame rail on the passenger side has been mushroomed underneath the beam mount, both are bent on the end but still align straight. It also looks like the front core having shifted tweaked the front motor/trans mount on the crossmember along with the obvious suspension misalignment. I'm still sorting out through the small stuff like that..

Pics will include before and after of the front core using the hydraulic collision tool to push things back in place. It was a surprising difference. However even the mighty hammer and wooden block could not straighten the apron as there was not much leverage to work with from underneath. We did use a floor hack to lift the car up using that point but did little under the cars weight. Ultimately the apron had to be cut and replaced under the airbox. At this point there was a small gap between the strut box and the apron that needed to be filled so we took the trashed fender and cut a rectangle out to weld in place. The fender rail was also twisted and pushed down from the point of impact making it near impossible to straighten, it was also cut and replaced making the front straight once more and possible to have both headlights. All that's left is to primer and repspray so it doesn't look like what's been done has been done then make the car %100 again. Go figure my primer on hand does not work and it's starting to rain so I've got her covered up for the night. Many pics inc.

Mad respect for not junking the car. I know how much of a pain it is to reconstruct damaged sheet metal. So I can respect anyone who tries to save they're DSM in this way.
Much appreciated. I just need to swap the hood, put the headlights in, find a bumper and do the suspension. The fender is on but it's not pretty so still more tweaking to be done on that too..

So I've been driving the car for about a week and it feels great to be behind the wheel again especially with the cone filter and its glorious spooly noises. The torque steer is pretty noticeable as I still need an alignment and to install the knuckle I got from a parts car, the hood hinges needed some good attention but it latches and is pretty even with the fenders. It's not perfect and the fender/headlight still isn't really pretty but it all holds together and I can drive it. The fog lights are also sitting wider then the bumper at the moment but I have a feeling it's the bumper.. or hope so haha. This week I hit also hit 100k which is bittersweet but a milestone. I ended up not doing the suspension yet because they are fine, the bottom rear control arm was bent about an inch back. I replaced both lowers, the sway bar link, and the fork on the bottom of the strut. I also have corner markers that just need to be cleaned. Feels good guys. Feels even better to have her back on the road keeping another DSM on the streets and kicking. :hellyeah::D
