I'm doing this write up on my build.
its a 95' awd. I will be doing the following.

Wire tuck

brake line tuck

engine bay shave

battery relocation

fuse box relocation

first off. if you try this on your own after reading my thread, i am not responsible for anything you decide to do. i am simply documenting MY build, and NOT setting an example for YOU you mom your dad your sister your brother your aunt and noone but I. thank you.

Anyway, I just wanted to start this thread right now. and im uploading some pics as im typing this.

Any questions, concerns, input, suggestions, feedback, negative comments, post it up and stay on topic please. thank you guys. hope you enjoy whats coming.

I'm interested in seeing how this turns out, as this is what I'm planning on doing on my car as well. Especially interested in seeing how you do the brake lines. I was thinking about running them in behind the firewall by the master cylinder, and then out the bottom of the firewall.

This is the last layer of glaze and etching primer before paint... im sure you guys know what a stock engine bay looks like and know where the bolt holes usually go and can realize how many i welded in and seams i shaved and corners got smoothed out. and realize how long of a run-on sentence that was! haha

paint laid along with the clear coat, i used a ford gray. i chose a lighter color so u can see other details in the engine bay, i felt it brightened up the bay enough and not too much like a white or those metallic colors. offset color engine bays are becoming a trend on the west coast, the rest of the car is going to be a 2010 metallic charcoal from lexus. i like the way the charcoal matches carbon fiber in color. and the gray in the engine bay should match as well with both the carbon and the charcoal paint. im going to stick with black details through out the engine bay since my wheels will probably not stay bronze, i might go gloss black or a full polish if i have time to polish them.

heres the driver side rust fixed... i went to the junk yard with my saw-z-all and cut the section out of the donor car and brought it home and made a stencil out of cardboard, overlayed it on the donor tower, cut it out and welded it in.. it wasnt perfect if you were wondering but i was able to fill in the cracks with welds...

36753_129324327100544_100000689333739_199634_2764862_n.jpg

my welds are horrible, but i care less since it hols and i grinded them down, im not doing roll cages though!! haha.

where do i check how many subscribers i have?

I'd like to suggest you put this into a blog, as they are much easier to follow and see your updates :thumb:

can a mod move everything, and pm me the link so i could subscribe to my thread?

captains log(j/k): I can't decide if I should chrome the brake master and clutch master and also the 2 lines from the brake master and the clutch line. I want to do it but it will take more time... and i have one week left to finish this build before school starts again.. paint should go on today and finish tomorrow...

Looking like some good work! The calipers look great! Do you need any extra parts for them or will they hook up the the brake lines and hose you already have?

Im also interested in knowing what is needed for the swap.

the bracket that has to be made is an "L" bracket and you have to tap them to the right thread pitch.
I havent made mine yet but i've seen some for sale on ebay.. the rear calipers, though, bolt right in and no bracket is needed.

as for the hoses... im getting custom hoses made at an industrial hose supplier that makes hoses with what ever fittings you want. and im getting these because of the brakeline tuck as well..

Looks good, like everyone here I can't wait to see the final pics. Quick question though as I have a set of 3kgt vr4 calipers I'm going to put on, where can I get a rebuild kit other than Mitsubishi themselves

i actually ordered my calipers from autozone for like 50-80 each turning in a core... but i turned in a 1 piston GS calipers and thats only because my friend works at autozone and let me do that... try the parts stores for a rebuild kit.. or just bite the bullet and order a fresh reman. pair at autozone...
