Hi everyone,
I'm new around here haha, but I come to ask for help on my 1995 Eagle Talon TSi. I was driving it a couple days ago, and it randomly started misfiring, didn't give me power and was like hesitating/buffering while I was driving around 15mph. The tach needle dropped to a little above 0 RPMs, and of course threw the P0300 code.
I have since then, deleted the code with an OBD2, changed the spark plugs, gapped them at .028 and it still misfired and sounded terrible, like a lawnmower. I then thought cleaning the spark wire boots as they had a little oil would work. What I got was the car starting up, shooting the RPMs mid 2k then dying down to under 1k RPM and slowly made its way down to the 0. Then I gapped the spark plugs to .025 and today I turned it on, and didn't sound like shit, didn't kill the RPMs, it was like it was before the misfiring. I decided to drive it after it warmed up and I didn't even make it 60 yards when it started misfiring again and didn't want to pick up speed.
That being said, I want to give some backstory on this car which might hint at what my problem is. The cars engine got rebuilt 3,000 miles ago, and it ran good all those 3,000 miles until the misfiring. And the car has a idle surge when cold, once it gets up to temp it goes away for the rest of the day. It goes up to 2.3k rpm then down to 1.5kish rpm and up, over and over.
Thank you and have a happy weekend everyone. I appreciate the help !
