95 talon tsi $3500 is it worth it?

I found a 95 talon tsi awd with eclipse front and rear conversion, and a few mods including -
6 bolt swap
950cc injectors
dsm link
Brian Crower 272 cams
ACT clutch and flywheel
3g valves
3 inch exhaust
afpr
FMIC
slowboy G50 trim turbo, with aftermarket exhaust manifold and external waste gate

Bad
The owner said it needs a new bottom end because it makes a whining sound on decel (sounds like it would be in the trans, transfer case to me) but not for sure

Is the car worth $3500? I plan on modding it quite a bit, I'll have enough funds to do really anything I need to. I've owned a 2g dsm in the past and worked on several others.

Worth what ever you're willing to pay man. If the bottom end is truly smashed then expect that nice SBR turbo to be up in smoke also. Hammer him if that is the case, I wouldn't pay more than 2k on a good day for a clean exterior car with that kind of work needing done.

It does sound like quality parts are being used so maybe you'll get lucky. Doesn't sound like the owner has a clue though. Check it out and see what's really wrong. Always haggle unless you're in Japan.

Whining on decel could be tranny bearings, transfer case, or could just be from the upgraded clutch. I can't really think of something to do with bottom end, but one persons "whining" is anothers "grinding"

I don't know what the price of Talon goes up there for. I bought 3 talons and all were under 5K$ with rebuilt engines. If it is FWD, don't pay over 1200$.
