95 awd auto trans?

Just picked up a 95 awd auto with 156,000 it shifts really hard from time to time, I see I can get a jdm awd auto trans With tc for 300.00. I've had good luck with my other jdm engine and 5 speed.
are they the same?
Hoe much does it cost for a rebuild?
Any other ideas

The shop I got it from said it had new fluid as well

if it shifts hard all the time that is a good thing it means the tranny is in good shape but from time to time u may just need a filter change amd a flush

its from time to time, and today came to a stoplight and then step on the gas and nothing, turned off car put it in D nothing, so put it in R then back in drive and it work fine the rest of the day

yea im not too familiar with the autos but yea try a flush if u dont feel like going with a new trans just yet

There is a check engine light, and one of the codes was bad ground on the trans computer, and were is the tcu on the car

Behind the ecu against the firewall. And incase you don't know the ecu is behind the radio.

A lot of shops will just do a trans flush (without changing the filter!) when servicing a auto trans. This is due to the fact that trans pans are prone to leaking after being removed. I would go get a filter, new fluid & my preference is a oem trans pan gasket from the dealer. The oem is a very thick paper gasket vs the more comment aftermarket cork gasket. Remove the pan, inside it you'll find 3 magnets, check them for metal. If only a thick paste is on them then change the filter & make sure when you refill it the fluid level is correct.

I had some shifting issues with my auto. This made them better, the thing that really helped was a good shift kit though.
