Well my friends oil pressure gauge isn't working either.
So i took the yellow wire from the sensor on the upper
oil filter housing and ran it to the sender and it still didn't work.
So i grounded the wire and ran it to the sender and the gauge pegged..
So i switched that sender with one from my 91 and it still didn't work..
What do you guy's think is up?
Any help would be appreciated :D

the way it grounds is threw the threads so make sure the threads are clean and if you put teflon tape on it only put it on half so it still has metal to metal contact on part of the threads. if you have a multi meter your can put it to ohms and put one probe on the part where the connector goes and the other part on a clean non painted bare metal part of the motor by the sending unit( you may have to make your own with sand paper) and see what it reads if it reads oL its no good or the threads are dirty it should read somwhere between .3 -300 ohms

Here is how the stock setup should look (minus the T)(at least on a '91). The yellow wire goes to the upper part of the OFH and the blue wire goes to the sending unit. Just to give you a visual of the way the wires should run. I'm not sure if this what you are looking for or not but I hope this helps.

Well i took a picture of what it looks like..
and i hooked the dangling green wire to the oil pressure sender and grounded it and the gauge pegged..
so idk? maybe the wiring's backwards??
EDIT-
Sorry for the bad picture it's dark out and i took the picture with my phone. :p
But the yellow wire has a connecter that connects to the other sender.

I can't tell where either of your wires are going. Yellow goes to whatever sender (the small upper one) is just below the alternator and blue goes to your oil pressure sender (the big lower one).

Lol i know exactly how it's suppose to go i just don't understand
why it's not working..
i hooked the green wire to the pressure sender and nothing..

Maby because its a 90 it has different wire colors idk. 90s are so weird sometimes. still testing while producing during that year. then they sorted it out mostly for 91+ and stayed the same till 95.
i looked it up after i typed that up. and i dont think you have a oil pressure sender. you have your picture wired to the oil pressure switch/dashlight that goes red. and the switch is either on or off. no in between like the sending unit sees so the gauge didnt do anything because your resistance was to low to show.

That makes perfect sense. I think you nailed it. To think the gauge might have started working when the car had little oil pressure. :) Tres

So i got an aftermarket electronic oil pressure gauge that came with the sender..
hooked the green wire to the sender and hooked the oil pressure gauge up
and when i turned the car on it pegged...
i don't know what the hell is going on >.<
is it the oil pressure switch or what not?

Senders are not interchangeable. If you got one for an aftermarket pressure gauge you can't use it with the factory gauge, you need to get the OEM replacement.

I checked the 90 FSM and the warning light (oil pressure switch) is the yellow wire and pressure gauge (oil pressure sender) is the blue wire. This is the same as on the rest of the 1G's.

What green wire are you referring to?

That's what I thought. What green wire are you hooking up?

ok well my 90 did this when the motor blew u could turn the ky on and the gauge would peg but im not worried bout it til my motor goes back in so i dont have a fix for u. but the pic u sent is not a 90 ofh its a 91 and up cause its water cooled. also a aftermarket sender will not work with the factory gauge.

Yes i know that's why i hookd up an aftermarket oil pressure gauge..
hooked the blue wire to the new sender and bam it
is pegging on the aftermarket gauge....
?????

So you tried to reuse the factory wiring?
Did you cut the wire so that the factory gauge wasn't connected anymore?

The factory oil pressure gauge never worked...
and the wire's were just dangling by the oil filter housing..
so i just took the blue wire that was hanging and replaced the sender with
the one that came with the gauge and hooked the gauge up
and it pegs, i don't understand why???

Because the factory gauge cluster is still powering the wire in addition to your new gauge trying to.
If your going to use the wire you have to make sure to disconnect the old gauge not just change the sender.

well i guess it's working now
and they jumpd the yellow wire to the sender..
thanks for all the help guys

My issue is, the only wire that I have dangling anywhere near the o/p sender si a green wire, I don't have a blue one.....

Does anyone else have a 1g 6 bolt w/ a green wire? It looks like it has to be the o/p sender, bc it has damage to the wire like it was ripped out, doesn't necessarily mean anything, but there isnt another lose wire, anywhere near....
