Ive looked at many links but none seem to answer my question.
My current 7 bolt has shot rings and dont wanna gamble on rebuilding a 7 bolt.
My question is for the 6 bolt do i buy the 1g water and oil pump or the 2g water and oil pump?? I plan on doing the 1g/2g combo 2g head 1g block.
Bear with me fellas.
Thanks.:D

yes. you will have to trim the mount and if i recall correctly the cover also. follow the magnus guide and you shouldn't have a problem.

Buy a 96-98 Hyuandai Elantra oil pump. This is off the g4cs, and g4cp block. It is a 6-bolt pump, with the 2g crank sensor mount. You will be able to run all of your 2g crank, and cam sensors. This Gets rid of any of the the 1g cas problems.

My swap included a 1g 6 bolt bottom end with a 2g 7 bolt head. I used a 6 bolt front case/oil pump, oil filter housing, cam angle sensor, and water pump. everything else was from my original 7 bolt motor. ie timing components, mounts, water pipe/neck. there are just minor things that need to be "grinded" or modified. pm me if you need help.

Really??
Ive never heard of anybody talk about this.

Yea the G4CP used in the Hyundais is basically the same as our 6bolt 4G63s. Different rods/pistons of course being naturally aspirated, but turbo OE Mitsu and aftermarket internals fit right in. What's great about this is that the '96 and '97 models used a crank position sensor identical to our late 7bolt engines. I have a '98 GSX and had a fully built bottom end with JE/Crower/ARP yada yada...and spun a thrust bearing after 5500 miles...FML. Anyway, I bought an engine from Karking despite their somewhat bad rep for selling people bad engines. I bought a 2g head/6bolt bottom end setup. Came with balance shafts removed, MLS headgasket, and revised lifters. George acted a little shady when asked about how he got the front case for a 7bolt to fit a 6bolt (just wanted to hear what he had to say, for I know there are several ways to run this setup and I also looked at the bolt pattern for my oil filter bracket and it's identical to the G4CP) so I really have no idea why he was being so secretive claiming that it "comes off of an engine only in Japan"....really???? Come on now. Hyundai is a Korean market first off. Second, people have their own ways of making things work so I really don't know why he seems to be afraid someone is going to "steal his business" or whatever his reason is. My engine turned out pretty good, I just don't trust it for what our 6bolts are known to hold up to because I highly doubt he even uses OEM parts, probably TopLine or Rock parts. Who knows.
