Ok so im swapping a 6 bolt into my 2g talon. Someone told me that i would have to tune the car because it was going from OBD1 to OBD2! Is this true?

You may be swapping the engines, but you're not swapping the ECU. That's all that really matters.

Depending on how much you're changing over, you may have to do some re-wiring or change some sensors and vacuum line routing. If you're keeping the 7 bolt head/TB, then there's less to do.

My suggestion would be to read the VFAQ articles and the articles on here regarding the 6 bolt swap.

Well i read the faqs and all the other threads then i was talking to my mechanic and he told me that it would need a tune but i was kind of questioning it. The 7 bolt head that came out of my car is trashed and we are just going to rewire the cas and keep the 2g ecu. Ok and i still need to time the 6 bolt to 2g specs? So position the 5 timing marks just like the 2g?
