i need some advice fellas, im about to rebuild a 6 bolt and drop it in my 95 talon tsi, my budget is around 900 - 1,100 dollars, I want this engine to last as long as possible with close to stock boost, lets say around 14 to 17 pounds, what connecting rods should I use? machine them? i know for sure im gonna use my 2g pistons, rebuild stock turbo? should I go with OEM bearings? OEM rod bearings? or something a little beefier? i got arp studs for the head with a mitsu ralliart metal headgasket. not gonna stroke it, im just building it for ENDURANCE, ENDURANCE is key! thanks

Just use stock 1G rods rebushed for the 2G pistons and Mitsu bearings everywhere. Bore the block .020 and make sure you have the appropriate .020 over pistons and rings. Having the block torque plate honed is a nice touch if it's in your budge. File to fit the rings going in the middle of spec for the low boost you're planning on running. No need for any fancy hardware for stockish power levels, a stock rebuild is just fine. All this should come in under $1000 easily.
