6 Bolt Build Questions

I'm currently looking into building a 4g63 6bolt block with a 7bolt head for my 97 talon tsi. My plan is to have the block machined and equipped with a stroker kit, but as of now I am not sure if I should bore it out to be a 2.3l or a 2.4l and I would like some advice or tips on what to do for a powerful street car, thanks

Your 2.3 or 2.4 displacement don't have to do with boring the cylinders. You will not be able to bore a 2.0 into a 2.3 or 2.4.

The strokers are done my changing the crankshaft and changing the stroke in your displacement. A 2.0 4g63 has a 86mm crank, 2.2 has a 94mm, and 2.3-2.4 use a 100mm crankshaft. The block on a 2.4 has a 6mm taller deck surface which increase the .1 displacement. You only need to bore your cylinders if they are egg shaped, if the cylinders are in good shape you wont need to, but I would have a machinist determine that for you.

Beyond all that, look through other members street builds and upgrade paths to determine what is going to be best for you.
