My goal with this build is just to have a fun little daily driver. Something I can play with at the strip and get decent fuel mileage. I'm shooting for 350whp and anything over 30mpg. The car was basically free with a few goodies(2g fwd trans and brand new act 2900). So what is a sane person, with a light weight car sitting in the back yard and a spare 6 bolt long block, to do? See how it fits. Sat my homemade intake and turbo manifolds on it for good measure. Looks right at home to me

So that's how it sat after my partner in crime lost interest and bought a hayabusa.

Fast forward a year or so and a few moves later.....

So I have a mirage with a 2g fwd turbo trans, brand new act 2900 clutch, and a bone stock 6 bolt just sitting in the back yard. Since my gst is in pieces right now I decided to push it into the garage and see what I could do with the parts I have laying around.

Pulled the engine and transmission to work out a issue with the mounts, and freshen it up a bit. This thing still had the OEM timing and balance shafts when I pulled it apart.

New valve stem seals

ported oil relief
ARP rod bolts
cometic hg
lower gaskets and seals
Gates racing Kevlar belt
2g timing side mount

Not much but its a start.

you could get a t3 gt30 with the biggest turbine a/r they make and 44mmwg
with 10 psi wg spring and 4 port boost contol

I actually have a bolt on pte sc6152e off my gst that's on a evo3 manifold with 40mm wastegate off the o2 that I'm gonna use. It ran pretty good on the stock 7 bolt up to 21lbs. It'll prob be a handful but it should be fun.

Back in. Lower gaskets and seals are all replaced along with valve stem seals, reused a cosmetic, torqued the head. Installed the smim I picked up a few years ago along with the plenum spacer. Gates racing kevlar belt and timing done. Modified the mounts a little and put it all back in the car.

2g harness in so I can use my 2g gauge cluster and 2g vss.

Stock gauges on top 2g turbo cluster in the newly black dash.

I know its not necessary but its what I had laying around. Also traded a 2g trans for a 2g pnp aem ems v1

Just need to get me a 3 core honda radiator, a 93 fwd turbo DSM passenger sided axle, and finish my wiring up. Got the intercooler mocked up and did some piping.

I'm on a tight budget with this one. Most of this stuff I've had laying around in boxes for years. This is the spare-parts-mobile if you will.....anyways.

Crappy phone pics but I took the dash out a while back and dyed it black. They never offered a black interior so itll all be getting dyed....

I needed it out of the car to do the wiring and see about getting my 2g cluster to fit the csm dash. Using the 2g engine and dash harness so the wiring will all be there.

I'm actually working on a 3 gauge pod for the upper vents right now. Pics to come.

This is how it'll be laid out. I'll prob be using 2 inch PVC to make the actual pod to hold them.,then I'll put plasti-dipped plexi glass over to fill the void.

The gst will also be donating its downpipe and uego

Needs a little cleaning right now, which it will get before bolted to the v band o2. The rear flange will be cut off and replaced with a 3 inch v band also. Hard to believe it started life as a mk4 supra downpipe.

Also did a little on the wiring but found the only cas plug I have is too brittle to rewire.

Got the CAS wired in. The injector plugs had also been cut off this harness for whatever reason. So I rogued them off the 1g harness I have. While I was at it I cut it apart and moved a couple things around so I could run everything under the intake.

That's about it for now. Got some more to clean up in the engine bay and still need to get my turbo and manifold picked up from the machine shop. Slowly but surely.

Well I picked up a 14b in great shape from a buddy of mine for a great price (free). It had been sitting in a bucket in the back of his shop for 6 years or more. Figured it'd at least be something to run until I can get ahold of the machinist that has my sc61. Just need a j pipe now and a few other things to get it started up. Not much of a update but things are going kinda slow at the moment. On another note I'm getting my 90 awd talon shell back as soon as I get a way to go get it.
