With psi that high, you having an internal or external wg is irrelevant.

having an internal or external wg with boost that high is EXTREMELY relevant. At 26psi on my 50trim internall gated, with the damn wg arm crazy tight, itll sometimes open a little. I can only imagine at 30psi+ how fast the flapper will shoot open on an internal wastegate with the spring pressure settings they have.

I should have followed my statement with a " :thumb: "

You all took the way I wrote it the wrong way.

I understand where you coming from and most of us here understand that the internet chats just turn into one large pissing contest. At least i do. And if you get super involoved in these pissing contests, you'll grow old before your time and piss and awful lot.

Not a GT... Sadly nates budget is limited like mine so we have to play with archaic toys like the 60-1 and Evo III 16g  . We also wanted to prove that the G-60 isn't a bad turbo even if it's internally gated, and the lesser with the 400 horsepower on an evo III 16G (that car didn't really have any stock parts).

As for Nate Doggy, he's negoating a GT turbo with the boss, so who knows.

Rock on in the free world.

Guess I'll have to start using these smilies after every statement, otherwise I'm just pissin' in the wind.

I'll bet traction is ample with that setup! :p

Great job on the numbers. I always like to hear about high HP FWD cars as that is what my car is aiming to be, I have the parts but not the tuning.

Suprised you are using the Haltech, most respectable DSM tuners out here on the left coast say the Haltech is a joke. Unless it was part of your "budget" project, why did you select that engine managment?

Nate, you need to get an external on there, in the name of science. And you need to toss the haltech and run 1G DSMlink, because its the tits. Do the right thing.

:D

No trying to whore up nate's post, but it AIN'T a haltech yet.

External is a definite, stock ecu is staying for now! LOL

You will always be the DSMlink king.

So how is traction with that thing? What tires and do you hook in 3rd?

Non-existant.

Wheelspin in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and most of 4th. I have Nitto 555r's on the front which helped alot, but still spins.

Will this car be at the shop tomorrow or sometime next week? I'd love to come by and look it over.

Thats depressing :(

Alright Nate! Stock ECU Thats awesome! And Intake Manifold. All @ 30+ psi Remarkable.
What rpm and in what gear does that thing hit full spool on the street or was this just for dyno purposes. I forgot to ask you today if you could pm me with the price of and installed the vce. I know I dont have a chance to even sniff 500 whp but I wouldnt mind 400 on a conservative tune! Thanks Nate

First off I have to congratulate you Nate & you guys at SlowBoy. Your raising the bar for everyone in a good way, and offer great products and service to back it up as well. Keep up the good work for many years to come. To bad that track has closed in your area. That car would be a sight to see run with some impressive numbers.

Now for a question. Are yall still using the stock knock sensor to detect detonation? What plug wires are sending the spark to that much boost?

Thanks for you responce,
Rob Hinson

I drive the car to the shop almost everyday, so most likely it will be parked out front!

Yep still the stock 1g knock sensor, replaced when the motor was built with a new mitsu one. This was with a stock coil and old ass Magnacore plug wires.

Thanks for the compliments, all of us here appreciate the compliments!

Props on the tire eating numbers you got. When are you guys going to open a shop close to me in Indiana. I would love to come and visit your shop but the drive is a little far for me.

Damn midwest, we have nothing cool here

No forged pistions? or heavy valve springs set the sensor off?

True testament of what the stock ignition system can handle.

Thanks for the reply,
Rob

Nate,
Here's a copy of the link to the ad I saw on ebay for the half-shaft axle seal conversion on FWD to AWD DSMs:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7933602222&category=33728

-May be this will help with the wheel-burning

Very good point, I have thought about swapping axles but haven't had a problem with the stock ones yet, If one breaks I'll most likely replace it with an AWD. I remember having a hard time locating the special seal for the axle because its different than an AWD. Someone used to make a custom seal with a spacer but I dont recall who, any ideas?

Thanks for the compliments!
