Hey guys,
Just wanted to post an update. I got the 6th coat of paint on. I'm not done, It still needs a final wetsand then buff, but it looks decent now. Everyone who see's it says they are impressed so here are some updated pics.
Lemme know what you think.
Looks good, can't wait to see pics after wetsand. If you can, try to take pics without flash, but with bright light facing camera, so there's some reflections on the paint. Flash tends to wash everything out and remove detail, and what you really want to see is the texture/gloss, which is easy to see if there's reflections in the paint. Good luck, keep at it.P.S. to 420A....I only live 1hour from you its not THAAT cold, GET Some work done!! HAHA
My only concern with this method is durability. Any past experience to say this is a worthwile investment of your considerable time?UPDATE:
So I finished with the 6th coat of Black and took the tape off. Well I have to say it looks Pretty decent, but it far from perfect. Alot of the edges where I painted black to red got messed up and I'm goign to have to do some touch up, but overall for the cost, I am VERY happy with the results so far. I still need to touchup, buff, and polish. I'll post more pics when I'm done. I mocked up one side and bolted everything in temporarily for the pics.
Let me know what you think.

. The GS-T is getting a little faded and starting to get sun spots, it's time for a new paint job, and if I can do this then that'll save me a bunch of money, keep us updated and good luck on your project!!

I really hope your guys are doing this to cars with maginal paint to begin with... rustolem will work, but its soft, it will mar easilt and has nowhere near the durability as a conventional automotive finish.. honestly you could go to your local autoparts store ask for a single stage urethane and roll it on and have much better results with less work, for only about twice the cost. not to mention it will actually last. theres a reason cars arn't painted with enamel anymore..
I went out and got supplies today. Cost me $50.34. I began my body work and sanded down the whole car. Waiting for body filler to dry so I can start painting. I decided on gloss white for the color.
