4g64 head swap?

Ok, I dont want to get flagged again so im posting in the newbie section. Anyway, I have a 98 spyder gs (4g64). Stock everything, automatic 112,000 miles or so. My balancer shaft belt snapped and took out my crank sensor. It didnt take out the TB, but teeth are missing on it.To me it doesnt look like it jumped,I can turn the crank by hand wIth a little resistance. hope thats not bad
Getting to the point. Since its getting cold out,I only have a one stall garage that only gets power from 7pm until 8 am,And I dont get off work until 3/4am. What would be the smartest thing to do. Just hope that it didnt jump teeth and mess up lifters,and just replace the timing components and such,OR..find the parts needed for the head swap. Now given I hate cold and here in MN,we some how missed fall and went straight to winter.. Im not in a hurry to get it running but am lost without it you know!?
Ive noticed a few 1gs going into u-pull r-parts down here (and that is how it spelled I dont think im going to be boosting it so i dont think finding all the parts for the swap would be too hard. and would be cheap considering a head would only be 43 bucks,and the ecu is like 21 bucks plus whatever things I could find.

Im just trying to get opinions,Im actually in a crossroad for this car. so thank you for any feedback good or bad that might be said.

Be more specific, what exactly are you wanting us to tell you? Everycar has problems, why did the bs belt snap? Had it not been changed? Any more symptoms?

I have no idea why it snapped,the crank sensor isnt working so it is not running. I guess thats the biggest symptom. I guess all I was saying was that if a DOHC head would be a good choice for my car,I dont race,its just to cruise. But also I love being a little different And having a little get up

Anyway,if I went the swap route,could it be done in a limited garage space?At below freezing temps at times.? Thanks again!

BTW I just got the car mid June,so I doubt anything has been changed.

So you want to put a 4g63 head onto your 4g64 block but keep the bottom end stock? Correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that putting that head onto a 4g64 block creates a ridiculously high compression ratio like 11:1 or something along those lines. That might be good if you want to stay away from boost just make sure you use 93 octane gas when driving it. Your best bet would probably be taking off the head to see what kind of damage really happened and go from there. If your head and pistons aren't damaged then you can just put on a new timing belt and balance shaft belt and have your car back and ready to cruise again but with no upgraded power.
