420A no start

alright guys, i am pretty smart with cars, but am new to the dsm world here.. so any help is greatly app. !

ok i bought a 1995 talon n/t 5spd that i found sitting in a yard. the owner told me the car just died about 2 years ago and has sat since.

so i checked everything i can think of..
compression is 150-180 across the block.. f.p. is 45 at the rail... spark is great....i put noid lights into the inj. and cyl. 2 is a constant pulse when cranking, but 1,3,4 pulse one time and that is it...... timing is right on.... all sensors/wires are ok and not broke or ripped.... the plugs are brand new platinums. brand new computer!

i dont know what else to try, i even replaced the cam sensor just incase. i scanned the car with a snap on scanner and i only get a code about problem with air flow switching valve. but that does not effect the start up. the car cranks fine, but it will not start, i d.c. the exhaust incase of a really blocked cat.. and nothing. any help would be greatly app.

What is the air flow switching valve? Is it the egr valve or the iac valve? Whats the code number?

it is a po412 i believe.

O iight, just was making sure it wasn’t your IACV. Have you verified you have voltage reading from the CRANK sensor signal wire (blue/white wire)? Have someone turn the key to start and tell us your voltages your reading. Check the injector ohms should be around 12k ohms for each one. If you’re getting 12v to your injectors then your ASD relay should be fine. How do you know you have spark? Another thing to check would be the wiring harness around the egr tube, just make sure the bottom of the harness hasn’t melted on the tube. (First thing I would check then go about checking for voltages that’s if the previous owner hasn’t removed it)

ok, i'll check the wire.. i just bought a new crank sensor just in case, and i will check the wires then, but the ASD relay is new i bought that as well, and the wires by the egr pipe are fine they are not burnt or nothing, i pulled the loom just to check and they are ok. i'll check the wire for c.s. and put the new one on and let yous know.. thanks

okay now i replaced the crank sensor and the coil today and all the relays. and still nothing.. it just cranks and cranks.. i sprayed carb. cleaner into the intake and still nothing. only 1 injector has constant pulse.. and i replaced the injector harness. i really give up now.

You have constant fuel pressure but have you tried pulling the fuel rail to see the injectors are oping up? Have you check the ohms like i recommended? If you only found injector 1 to have pulse then something is wrong. Its either the +12v supplied to the injectors or the ground going to the ecu is damaged. Check all injectors for 12v and damaged groundings going to the ecu.
