Hey guys, I really need y’all’s help. My car doesn’t turn on anymore.
I had been researching an issue regarding low idle and had mentioned that I had a code reading P1390 (timing belt skipped a tooth or more). I have had this code since I got the car a few months ago. I redid my timing in effort to get rid of it. I aligned the camshafts pointing towards each other and the crankshaft pointing at the designated arrow. Even after doing this, I still had the code.
I asked some people on their opinion and they said that I had bent valves. A few days later, I was driving and I started to smell a weird smell, it wasn’t like burning or anything it was very distinct but indescribable. It drove fine until I went to turn it on a few hours later and it cranked very little and did not start at all. Unless the crankshaft is not aligned with the arrow at TDC, I don’t know what else I can come up with from a general inspection. The cams are in time so…don’t think it’s that.
Perhaps it’s something internal? Can someone guide me???? If someone would be so kind to help you can reach me at (956) 407-9806. I'm 17 and this is my first car so I only have general mechanic experience. I also forgot to mention it’s a 97 Eclipse GS so it’s a 420A N/A. I’ve tried a new starter, ignition coil, and ASD relay.
Here’s a video of what it sounds like: nvm it’s not attaching for some reason. If you really wanna help just text me at my number please
