Hey everyone just got a 98 Eclipse GST yesterday for 1K and the reason why it was so cheap is because the car cranks but it won’t start. Fuel pump works and the injectors too, ignition coils and spark plugs are clean too but i don’t know what else it could be. Battery and starter are good too.

Also I have a crack on my manifold please help!

Solution
What all did you finish fixing or testing today to finally get it running?
Fixed all vacuum leaks put clamps almost every where i could LOL replaced the damn crankshaft sensor and she started immediately

Some of the squealing noise could be the PS pump damaging itself. Running it dry is not healthy. Fill the reservoir with some Mercon or Dextron ATF variation.
Wait so not power steering fluid? I use atf?
Some of the photos and links are dead, but run thru this article and see if any of this info helps, then report back.

Hey everyone didn’t think anyone would reply tbh but i got a brand new fuel pump checked the full pressure and injectors everything is good there thinking of replacing the ignition system (sparks, coils, cables) the guy i bought it from said it was the crank shaft position sensor battery is good starter is good as well.

@Dericsh posted a link. The write-up goes through diagnosing a no start. While a basic no start diagnostic tree is fuel/spark/timing, with an injected car you have any and all sensors and wiring that send signals to the computer and/or control spark and timing. Bad fuel. Compression. Plug condition. There's a whole lot that could be considered... enough to get very lost and frustrated if you're not an experienced engine performance wrench. Read through the write-up dericsh posted and begin there. Ask questions if you run into unfamiliar territory.

Unfortunately you won't get a straight-up answer to a "it won't start" question/problem. Way too many variables and options. And too often on 25+ yo cars throwing parts at a problem leads to wasted money and added problems as old plastic breaks, brittle wires crack and fray, and poor quality am parts get used since oem has long been discontinued. Plus, throwing parts at a problem is bad form anyway.

anyone know what this is for

Looking at your pictures, that's a 420a not a 4g63 engine so it can't be a GST. You have a GS, which is normally asperated. That might change your troubleshooting a bit.

+1 on the massive vacuum leak(s). You've gotta get things that are obviously wrong or broken fixed, or you will never know if that's part of the overall problem.

It’s an egr valve but what about these two hoses???

First image: EVAP purge solenoid vacuum line. Massive leak. The other end of it should be hanging around on the passenger side near the intake manifold.

Second image: PCV valve. Massive leak. You need to buy some hose and attach it to the valve and the manifold. Can't remember if it was 3/8 or 5/16 but you can remove the valve and carry it with you when you buy new hose to confirm fitment.

It's no surprise it won't start with two huge vacuum leaks.

Okay sounds good i thought it was a gs-t since it’s got the gs-t on the back of the trunk plus the guy i bought it from said it was a gst
Many things are different. For sure that is not a gst. It might be a gs with a turbo added. Show us pics.

If it was a GST or GSX the 8th digit on the vin would be an F. As to the badge on the trunk lid, it is relatively easy to swap badges. They are glued on. A small heat gun, a paint scraper or drywall mud knife (taped so as to nit scratch the paint), and some patience is all it takes to remove the badge... and some adhesive to apply it to another car.

Based on the pics your engine is oriented with the transmission on the driver's side and the pulleys on the passenger's side. That is a 420-A (gs):

Here is a pic of a gst with the 4g63 turbo engine:

do you know where it goes i got the 3/8b for the vac idk what part of the manifold it goes too

My bad about the badge. The PO swapped trunks since the GST is painted on.
Plus no turbo on that engine. Sounds like you might have gotten duped, bro... like the PO swapped trunks and dubbed in a sound byte of a BOV or something to make it sound like the car has a turbo instead of being a N/A GS...
boo...
Not that the GS is a bad car at all. But you definitely have some work ahead of you. After market alarm... all kinds of vacuum leaks... who knows what else you might find considering the guy you bought it from was...dishonest...

do you know where this goes??? and what a ass LOL he told me it was the turbo whatever tho i love dsm

I believe it runs up to a vacuum source on the throttlebody. If you can find a good picture of a stock 420a it should be fairly obvious.
