Resolved 420A - New DSM owner help, cranks but not start

Hey everyone just got a 98 Eclipse GST yesterday for 1K and the reason why it was so cheap is because the car cranks but it won’t start. Fuel pump works and the injectors too, ignition coils and spark plugs are clean too but i don’t know what else it could be. Battery and starter are good too.

Also I have a crack on my manifold please help!

Does the engine rev up immediately with throttle input, or seem sluggish? You may be looking at a torque convertor or transmission issue. Like I said though, hard to tell from provided info. Wish I were there to drive it, we'd narrow it down pretty quickly.

Okay let me explain my best. I turn on the car and it jumps to 1 rpm’s and chills there but as soon as i change it to D the engine starts like making loud whirring noise then it starts shaking like crazy. When the car is in Drive it stands still like it doesn’t automatically move a bit then i gotta almost floor it to accelerate. But when i put it in reverse it runs soo smooth no shaking nothing perfectly fine.

question could it be the ecu??? previous guy had put in a new one and i found the old one in the trunk with like a print out of how to install it. If i remember right it was 2 days before i bought it….
