My boy from tuners... is about to sell me his OBX cam shafts for the 420a..

do you think that they would be any upgrade at all from the stockers thats on them now.. idk whether they would be 264, 272 or 280 but being that they are "aftermarket" (which i know because his car has a rough idle so im sure there 272 or 280)

do you think they are worth putting them in the motor.. im getting them for $150 probably less.. cause i do alot of his labor LOL..

also i will be going turbo soon... do you see any upsides to this?

meh, do a lot of your own QC, OBX is the considered the cheap stuff for a reason. I personally wouldn't run them because I only trust obx for the LSD (if you yourself or you know someone who can tear it apart and rebuild it) or for non important parts, like i have OBX radiator hoses (and even they were a tight fit)

If you actually get that rare good part and it is above a stage 1, then it shouldn't hurt anything (to much :p)

yea i dont know im just thinking maybe for the price of 150.00 it would be a slight upgrade to the stockers.. like i said.. he has them on now and has a rough idle so im sure there about stock

well for a more optimistic view, you know the guy, and he has them in his car, so they can't be all that bad right? (unless his car is a pos) for $150 its hard to go wrong, especially if you can re-sell them later on down the road

most definite.. sounds great then.. thx for the better view on things.. i know they are running he just wants to feel better with some crower cams..

thing is OBX is soo sh!tty they dont mention the hieght they are whether 272s or not but i do know there aboove stockers

what would that help in though? more accel or top speed?

from my limited experience with cams they are more mid to top end, depending on grind and setup up and etc. My Crower's (2's) dont really give any power difference until about 4k rpms, then it almost clicks over and pulls like a beast till redline, if that helps you at all

that helps alot.. hmmm sounds pretty good.. wish the powerband was sooner than 4 but i guess if its better than stock than i may just go with it.. i just need to learn how to pull my own head and do the damn job because shops charge arm and a leg..

well first off, you dont need to pull the head off, just the VC :p secondly, with a 2.0 liter we don't have many options for improving our power down low (according to my dyno i gain like 20whp from 4k-5k, granted thats not all the cams and i hope i am not promoting bench racing here).
