I'm just shopping around, and I found this car. I first found it in May, but the owner took it off the market. He now has it back up for sale.

1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST

As a side note, the shop that did the body and paint is amazing, and has sent cars to SEMA shows before. The engine was also compression tested and had a cylinder leak-down done be a very credible shop too. Thanks for the help.

im not diggin the body kit too much either, but you know if you like it thats all that matters, quite a bit of miles on it try and talk him down!! and not to thread jack im running a hks ssqv i sometimes run rich or alot of the times ill run lean what would the bov have to do with that?

i would buy it. all you have to do is buy a stock body kit, and but it on it. that's all. It sounds like the guy took care of it. Buy it, and do whats ever that suites you.

Like you guys said, to each his own. I do like the body kit, and saw that exact kit with the same fenders on a "one of a kind" car built by some expensive shop somewhere.

Appearance of the car aside, what do you think about the relationship between the mods/mileage, and the price?

BTW, he was asking more for it the first time it was for sale, and just lowered it down.

He said if it's vented and not tuned that causes these cars problems since the extra air from the bov isnt going back through the cycle since its accounted for already in the ecu didn't say anything bad.

And yes I would talk him down. That's alot of miles for that much. Car looks nice though.

So what do you guys think would be a good price for this DSM?

And how about a price for the hood, too? I checked, and it cost about $600 new, and seeing as he bought it through the same shop that did the paint and the hood didn't go on when it was painted (I saw pictures on the shop's website), the hood might as well be brand new.

As far as price how much do you have ? the only reason i ask is if you want the new bumper and maybe a few other little things you gotta think about what your gonna put into it after purchase plus tax/transfer fees

I personally like the kit, so I could care less whether or not he has the originals still.

Just in case anyone is curious, here is the link for the shop that did the kit and paint. Click on GALLERY and then IMPORT, and it's down at the bottom.

As everyone else already said the body kit and fenders look like crap and the BOV is uncirculated. I would pass on it and keep looking there are other DSMs out there in better shape than that one and can be had for the same price.

1. We don't know that it is uncirculated.
2. Whether or not the body kit looks like crap is your opinion, not mine. I like it, and that's that.

Gathering all the information I can get from the pictures the build quality does not look that great so that leads me to believe it is uncirculated. Also the price leads me to believe it is having problems running and it is also raising a flag that it is uncirculated. If you have a BOV that vents to the atmosphere your MAF will add fuel making your car run rich and idleing like crap or detonating at high rpm.

I know what results from a BOV being uncirculated. I just said that we don't know if it is recirculated or not, and that cannot be assumed by looking at a so-called inferior paint and kit job. What makes you think that it's not a good quality build? The shop is extremely professional, the kit was not a cheap POS. Everybody else was referring to their opinions on whether they like the kit or not, not the quality of the build.

i say it seems like a clean car, just be detailed in checking it, and any little thing here or there you can add to knock the price down a bit, wheel n deal...haha

also think thats too high priced for the mileage, body kit looks fine, id get different wheels tho...

does make me wonder why hes selling such a clean car with work done to it at all, aside from not driving it in winter with the airbag system..and tell him to take that dual 10 back to walmart and get $30 off the price haha
