Price seems good. I would question why he went to the trouble of putting a JDM engine in then sell it for less than what he paid for the engine.

Why is the crank pulley off? If he's been starting the engine without the harmonic balancer there's a chance he's screwed up the front seal and maybe the crank. Why does it need a clutch. That should have been replaced while the engine was going in. May be some other problems with the car.

Check all that out then offer him $1000 max.
