So here is the story. I had lent my car to a guy I work with because we have his 91 talon in my garage and to be honest it was a pain to go 20 miles and pick to bring him over to work on his car. So to do him a favor I let him drive my car. So here we are about a week later we finally get a call from the machine shop telling us that his engine is ready for pick up. He loaded up the car last night and this morning starts to head over to my place to start putting his car together. Coming up on the intersection of Jones and the 215 everyone is slowing down for a red light. Light turns green so the Mercedes at the front of the pack starts to go through the intersection then mashes on the gas pedal. My buddy sees this ambulance with lights only on (no siren) hits the intersection and blows trough his red light. He slams on the brakes and comes on to a complete stop only to get reamed by a ford excursion. Both drivers admitted to be doing about 55 at the time, the witness that gave a statement said my buddy came to a complete stop before the white line before getting shoved about 70 feet into the intersection. The best part is that the driver that hit my car admitted to being on the cell phone at the time. O-yea and neither airbag deployed.....by the way if you are curious i am 99.9% sure the car is toast....

highly un-fixable, but i have seen worse. i bought a 97 awd auto that was t-boned, took the quater, door , lower rocker and the door pillar out, i had some guy buy it from me and he did all the work at a body shop and looks like new

If youre info is right and its a GS-T then I'd part it out... Wouldnt say its worth trying to rebuild since 2G GST's can be had for not THAT much.

Unfortunately what you don't see in the picture is there are two wrinkles just above the b pillar under the sunroof..... And the hinge points where the back hatch bolts up are folded up, the hatch sits about 3 inches above the roof line..... Not an easy fix. I haven't decided yet if I want to get an AWD chassis to trough this engine in or put it in something else.....

Good with fiberglass and bondo? Get out a sawzall then put a cage in it for rigidity and make it into a dragster, I bet the back half of a car weighs a lot and none of it but the part where the wheels connect is useful.

What sucks about that is I have been trying to search the Craig’s list around 500 miles from here and the only thing I have found in the last 3 months were 2 that had been hit in the side one I Cali and one in phoenix. Guess I need to widen my search a little.

so far, yes everyone was ok in the accident, the driver of my car is a little stiff but otherwise ok.

Im from Vegas too man and I know the pain . Sorry to hear about your can. Unfortunately your car is a total loss, way more to fix than to just buy back from insurance and part out. Reasons......bent unibody for one. Bends in the roof line like that most likely mean that the rear of your car was pushed down in the accident and in. Unibody frames are meant to "crush" to a certain extent, absorbing most of the impact. So its toast. Good luck with the part out though. And glad everyone is ok. 70 feet from a dead stop is gettin hit pretty hard.

That really sucks. Just buy back and then part it out what you don't need if you find one to transplant some stuff into.
