420A 2GNT Eagle Talon and Eclipse engine and auto trans swap

Just got me a Eagle Talon and a Eclipse body for practically free

ET body is rusted and in bad shape but engine works and auto tranny needs work. The Eclipse body is in good shape but has no engine and is a manual. I plan on switching engine and auto trans to the Eclipse. Any suggestions or advice on doing so? What to avoid or watch out for? Please let me know beforehand, this is a passion project for me. I came to terms that if it dosent work in the long run, I'm getting rid of them.

P.S. I am firm on keeping the automatic, I am staying with that.

420a based non turbo....but 4g63 engine swap would be a future project..maybe

Thank you. It's hard to tell when people are outside of the continental US what version of the car they have. It make a huge difference and sadly the 420A cars require major surgery to swap a 4G63 into them. Few people have ever completed doing it.

Yeah I've heard! That's why it's a big maybe. For now I just want to put the working 420a engine and auto trans to the body of a Eclipse, just want to know what to look for and avoid. I'm mechanically inclined and adept, so I'll take my time with it. Lol, and yes I'm outside the US main land, but still in US territory

Also what websites that focuses on DSM car parts and aftermarket I should consider?
Like for ex. I also got a G35 so I go to Z1 Motorsports for the aftermarket parts, while RockAuto for the general parts...

Should be a direct swap. It would be much easier to use the existing 5 speed, but you can use the auto as long as you swap the harnesses, PTU and ECU. The gauge cluster swap is also required for correctness but the manual cluster will work as well.
