sick headlights man, let me know if you have some for sale :hellyeah: for people that want to be like you :D

Blurred Talon is doing much the same in another thread. There is no one perfect solution yet for our housings so following other projects like his and mine are the best we can do. There is a a lot of fabrication involved so it looks professional and many people don't have the shop or time to do that. That is why good projector retro-fits are rare and why HID PNP kits are so common. The performance and safety is much better with the true projector retro but it's not a small project.

:hellyeah:
Thanks for the mention man.

Getting a Bi Xenon projector into the Talon/Eclipse housing is a bear. You have to trim a lot out of the reflector bowls. TSX or S2000 projectors will likely fit better.
Don't even think about a quad set up like mine, a lot of work and a TON of trimming. There's just about nothing left of my high beam reflector bowls.

I'm done stealing Dave's light though, check my thread if you want to see more of my stuff.

I only home mine will turn out half as nice as yours Dave.

Gotcha...the fabing i.e. cutting, fitment, painting etc... I should be okay with. My main concern is just the wiring and not frying/setting something( or myself) on fire while setting it up cause i have the wrong parts.. Thanks for the info

SIDE QUESTION: Have you, Dave, or anyone else thought/tried to start an LED strip on the inside bottom corner and go up and than to the outside top corner for a curved/eyebrow effect? or will this get lost in the main beam light and be pointless?

Best thing to do is start playing man. Get in there and learn!

that looks sooo sweet. im deffiantly going to try to put these inside my headlight. and you just put the headlight in the oven for like 10 min on 200 degrees and they will come apart?

Opening Headlights With an Oven
Mechanics Gloves (to handle the lights)
Paint Scraper
Exacto Knife
Oven
Baking Sheet
Damp Towel

1. Grab your baking sheet and cover it with a damp towel. Wet things won't burn and you don't want to melt your headlight.
2. Remove the bulbs and metal clips from your headlights.
3. Place the head light on the baking sheet and put it all in the oven. Don't let the head light touch the sides of the oven.
4. Turn the oven to 210* and set the timer for 8 minutes.
5. Put on your Mechanics Gloves and wait.
6. When the timer goes off pull the light out and use the paint scraper to start prying the light apart. I use the scraper because it's flexable so it shouldn't break anything. Use the Exacto knife to cut the sealant. (Careful the sealant is some sticky shit!)
7. Your headlights are now apart.

I saw your car at MOD it was very clean. My group of DSM'ers showed up late so we got grass parking LOL. I definitely noticed everyone passing by to stop and look at your DSM.

hey, great job imo,, where did you purchase those LED Strips, i been looking everywhere, and i think it'll look better inside the headlight.

Is it just me or is it really confusing when threads get combined like these two just did. The posts are all inter-twined now and replies jump all over the place.

How are you supposed to know who is asking or commenting about what when two currently active threads merge?

Let's just make "headlights" one big thread with 873+ pages.

dsmproject1, mitsumikey and talonalex92,

Where you asking about my mods or mikEclipse99's?

Yes, it's baffling as all hell.
How are you supposed to know who is asking or commenting about what when two currently active threads merge?
Think of it as a sort of puzzle. Kind of like the one when you use the Search to try and find something, and you find 500 returns on it. It's the best we can do with the evils on-hand. Oh, wait. No one searches, so that's a non-issue.

And we can put the bitches about moderating in it as well, instead of using the Site Problems Forum.

So, your issue's more about posters not being able to ask a clear question, then?

no question. I am a function over form guy. But It is very nice to see someone making these cars look nicer than stock (very hard to do) to actually spend the time and effort to do something really cool and different. WOW that is really cool. nice job and if you do ever decide to sell them I would be in. I am too busy trying to keep my dsms running;-)

Awesome job AZDave. I had been looking at doing this last year while I was doing my retro. I chickened out, because I couldn't figure a good way to blend the led's into the bezel. You solved that!

Thanks. I like my custom work to pull off a "factory" look but still be unique. That's not always easy to accomplish. My GSX will get some LED DRLs as well but I have something completely different in mind for that. Until I build it I have no idea if it will pass muster.
