2g talon wont start PLEASE help

so after my car spent like a week overheating randomly, i decided that i would diagnose my car and it came back as a blowen head gasket, so i tear the head apart and to my suprise i find a completley fine headgasket, Irregardless i decide to replace it with a 4 layer mitso gasket, Install goes smooth, everything is now back together and i cant get the car to turn over, i have fuel and i have spark, and it will crank but not fire any suggestions, im loosing work without it and i dont know where else to look, Please offer you knowledge to help me get back on the road. Its a 97 tsi

My only guess without pics etc is your timing is off.

naw, i zippy tied the timing belt to the cam gears before i broke the gears loose

How did you figure you had a blown headgasket? Besides it over heating, how was it running before the headgasket swap?

well allow me to apologize to you mister grassie, after all thats all you ever look for is someone to make you feel better for the favor you did for them. Yes alex did diagnose my car, i suppose i didnt know it was gonna bring a tear to your eye that i made a general statment about finding out the problem with my car and not including you in my forum.. So once again Alex diagnosed my car, not myself. Hope this makes you sleep easier...
