Hey guys I've got a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS 2.4L, right now it's just automatic non-turbo. I'm looking for spark plug wires for it.

Do you guys recommend the OEM size or can I upgrade to 9 or 10 mm?
Where do you recommend I get them at cuz I'm looking all over the internet. All I know is that when we push down on the top of the spark plug wire on the coil pack it shocked my spouse 😂

I mean it wasn't funny, but was, but why would it be doing that? So I'm looking for spark plug wires. Appreciate your help. 💯

Are they just 5 mm do you know cuz those are kind of small I guess I don't need to upgrade till I get the turbo engine

The thicker fancy wires do nothing special and make zero improvement.

For the turbo cars whatever off the shelf plug wires and the stock coil pack do the same thing until spark blowout becomes an issue (don’t usually see this until you get into the 600+ horsepower ballpark), I just recommend the NGK and use them myself as their quality is significantly better. I’ve seen guys make over 700 on heartbreaker dynos with whatever was cheap at the parts store but in my own experience I’ve see these not want to stay clipped on and I’d rather not have a plug wire pop off mid pull so I no longer use them and advise against them.

In your case buying anything but a standard plug wire isn’t going to make a difference in the world, so going with NGK you’ll have a high quality plug wire that will last a long time. No fancy magnecore thick wire or anything like that is going to improve performance or make more power in a naturally aspirated engine.

Okay cool cool makes sense thank you for your help I really appreciate it

Yea I don't see any reason to upgrade them, even on high HP turbo engine. I wouldn't put wires, I'd invest on coil on plug system so you're able to adjust ignition timing and such for a tune, on stock engine, OEM is always the best as it's designed for the engine, and if it doesn't work, then problem is somewhere else.
