2g mafs on a 1g with a safc and a big evoIII 16g

So I have a 91 gsx with a 2g mafs and I'm tuning it with a safc for now. What would be a good base tuning map I could use to get started because I have been searching and using the info here and vfaq and the road race site but I am still not getting a good tune. I thing what I need to know is about how much richer the 2g mafs makes the car run. But, if you have any other tips or if u have the same set up it would be greatly appreciated if I could get a little assistance with this.:pray:

evoIII big 16g
3" cat back
2g mafs
stage 2 clutch
2g intake plenum
greddy hard intercooler pipes
greddy bov
turbo xs boost controller
4 bolt rear end
walbro 255 fuel pump

thanks for the info but not much help cause that is the link i have most read :banghead: but do you know about how much richer the 2g mafs is in comparison to the 1g? and if I did the fuel lines, wires, and a walbro 255 pump would that help, or am I also going to have to get bigger injectors?
 
I'm pretty sure the 2G MAFS flows 22% more then a 1g and walbro 190LPH is would be fine for your setup.
And you don't wanna run the 2G MAFS with stock injectors you would be sucking in more air and would go lean. and with a safc the max you could on injectors is 680cc. I would invest in a wideband and dsmlink.

A wideband and dsmlink could seems to be expensive first but you will never have to buy something else.

safs is shit according to me!
 
Dsmlink is a must if you plan on getting more mods..You can tune accordinly with all new mods that you get..Especially if you plan on going with bigger than 680 injectors or running e85 in the future..An safc just basically tricks you ecu, an only gives you control over fuel and air trims..
 
A safc lies to your ECU about the airflow incoming to your engine but the ecu take that information to determine the proper air-fuel ratio and timing advance.
 
Yea a 190 pump and evo 560's will just about max your 16g, since the auto has a higher base fuel pressure. Probably can get both for around $100. The fuel lines and rail are more then adequate.

Also if your on a budget and really want to get into tuning check out Jackal. Full speed density tuning. The new version is only $20.

I would go ahead and zero out your AFC and don't go over 15 psi.... then start from there...

Theres a a FAQ for SAFC on this site, but if you need a baseline you should be okay 10% leaned out across the board with about 5-7% after spool up

Personally i love Jackal's layout. Id never tune a 1g with anything else, even if prices were reversed. But saving $500 on an equally capable product is ok with me. Third dsm with Jackal on it atm. Have you ever used Jackal?

I don't think it's capable as link and no I have never tuned with it but I heard it was a PITA, but have you ever tuned with link.

There are quite a few tuning with Jackal if pay attention.

Also how can you have such a strong opinion on a product you've never used or seen? Yes ive helped a friend tune a 2g with v2 and i thought it was just plain awful.

Its only $20 maybe you should pick it up and try it. If you like it you could always sell your link and use that 500 for upgrades :D
