Ok quick question I have a 2G MAF i installed into my 1G talon I wired it up and have been drive like this for a few years now I was told I had to put in 550 injectors and a SAFC or something to correct it. I have also installed a RFL BOV. Appearently from all these other post my car should be running like trash with these 2 mods. HERE is the question...I want to get a MAF Translator but im confused on how it would fix my "problem" I just want to put the injectors in with a 190 fuel pump and hook up the translator...Will this resolve the incorrect amount of air going into my motor

The maf translator is for gm mafs..Like you stated in your post..You should get 550's and an safc..

If you want to gm maf, then you need a maf translator..

If your car is running fine then don't change a thing..But I would still add 550's and an safc..OR dsmlink If you want to get the most umph out of your stock dsm..

The issue with the 2G maf is the 1G will run lean with it. Putting in 550cc injectors can bring the fueling very close to being back inline, but there will still be some "fine tuning" to be done, which is where the SAFC or MAFT come in. Do you have a logger? If not, you need to get one ASAP as its impossible to know your state of tune without one. I also recommend a wideband O2 setup, as it will make tuning so much easier. If you are venting your blow off valve, this is a well known no-no:nono:, however, you could vent the BOV with no ill effects provided that you install the MAFT with the GM MAF in "blow- through" configuration on the upper intercooler pipe. There are a few helpful threads in the "VFAQs and Tutorials" section of this site which should point you in the right direction, from logging and tuning, to installing an SAFC, MAFT and wideband. If you need help finding the threads, I can perhaps post links for you when I get home :thumb:

Crap, I got beat to the punch bigtime!!

Ok i have 550cc injectors I have the 2g MAF installed If i get the GM MAF and the translator will that Remove everything before my turbo? Also ill need a SAFC as well with the Translator? I want to get DSMLink and a wideband to tune it soon. my question was Will buying a GM Maf and translator make my car run better then it is now...again it runs fine but who knows if its rich or lean

EDIT: Ok so im going to need GM MAF, MAFT, 550s, wideband, and? a SAFC/DSMLink and? datalogger? im kinda confused LOL sorry ill need a SAFC and a Datalogger(or DSMLink) with the MAFT? im just trying to figure out what im going to be buying i dont want to get a SAFC and not need it if i can get it tuned with a logger and MAFT and wideband. bout to buy a GM MAF and MAFT i have 550cc injectors need to get a wideband....anything else ill need to tune it? i heard you dont need a SAFC if you get the MAFT just double checking beofre i install what i got

Just buy the wideband and DSMLINK V3. If youre wanting to run a GM maf, V3 supports the use of the GM maf without the use of the translator. With V3, you will have full tuning and logging capability that the MAFT or safc cant even come close to.

Please tell me this isn't all so you can run that leaky POS BOV...
