hey guys im new hear so bare with me. i read couple post and still confused. i was interested in buying a maf translator and a late model 3in maf. question is if i buy maft ver2 is a plug and play or it adjusts on its own. second and most importantly. can it be ran solo meaning do i nead a dsmlink for adjustment or any other thing to install maft with no proplems. i bought a 97 tsi awd. car looks stock except for some things. it has a turbox bov. non recurlating, tubonetics boost controler was bad so took it off. turbo running 12-14 psi not sure what type is. might be 16g. has a two bolt j pipe.

So are you just wanting this so that you can vent or are you wanting to tune with it. First off, it doesn't tune itself, you have to adjust it yourself. It does allow for some tuning, but no a lot. For what it's worth i would just find a bov that allows you to recirculate it and not overcomplicated things.

I think you should sleep on that mod and if a few days later you feel you're gonna suffer without it then you can do it.
Plug and play?
If you have the harness or else be ready to solder.
You can run it solo but many others before you ran it with a SAFC II.
2 bolts... could be a 16g or 14b.

Yeah I thought of this mod many times when I first got my car. Then I looked around with many members with 300+whp mark still running stock one's so I decided. I didn't need it!

Believe me this LOL
That money could be better spent else where.
